UC vs Oregon

Calm down people. A lot of over reaction on this thread. You guys really need to chill. Bottom line is they traveled across the country to play a very late game and came out with two wins against good WEST COAST teams. Very impressive. All of the teams in this tournament are potential tournament teams so to win it is pretty awesome. It is not the BE but still some great OOC wins that we can learn from. Did you really expect they would play their best so far away from home. What this does for the team is build more confindence and gets them ready if we get stuck in the West bracket.

Great job Bearcats keep it up. To the Bearcat fans stop whining so much. You sound like a bunch of 3rd graders.

47 fouls called last night, the refs were horrible. Between them and Doug Gottlieb, I wanted to rip my hair out! Apparently, these west coast refs/teams aren't used to the physicality of a BE team.

I agree with sports fans in other cities. Cincinnati has the worse fans in the country. Can't sellout a 13,000 seat arena for a top 25 team. Can't celebrate wins. Can't see the positive in two wins that gave them respect. It's incredible to me to listen to sports talk or read a board after a win. If you didn't know the score you'd think they'd just lost. 5-0, kept 2 good opponents under 40% shooting, had different players step up when needed. Sanders, Thomas, and Rubles contributed when called upon. Are they a finished product? No, but neither is any other team in the country. Win now and peak in March. I'm enjoying 5-0 and a coming bump into the top 20 myself.

Doug Gottlieb quote from last night.....
"He's hurt, not injured."
I think my IQ dropped 10 points listening to him talk.

I agree, really like the progress Sanders has shown during this tourney and I think Rubles showed us flashes of what he will look like by January. The most important aspect of this team-one guy has a bad game, another guy steps up. Killa struggled a little yesterday and Rubles/Parker played better. Parker/Rubles struggled Friday, and Killa stepped up. Good teams have multiple guys who can step up when called upon, and that's what we have.

My god the collective IQ on this team is very, very low.

Wins over Iowa State and Oregon on consecutive nights should be cherished by the fan base. Should move UC to top 15, great for RPI #'s at year end. Take time to enjoy today and let tomorrow take care of itself.

I will give credit to Mick and the players for pulling this one out. But please develope some kind of offense other than dribbling around the 3pt line. He spoke of a transition game in the off season...lets see it. We have guards galore

Did you watch the game? 90% of the points scored in the first half were "that transition game" Mick spoke of. Credit to Oregon in the second half, they took care of the ball and the Bearcats took some horrible shots.

Overall a solid two wins from the Bearcats. I'm really encouraged they fought back last night.

2 nice wins in as many days. Rubbles is going to be good. I love our height, and athleticism. I think we will gove most people fits. When they are hitting their shots they can beat anyone..

The outcome is really the best we can ask for. We fought through struggles and because of tough D and rebounding, we were able to beat two solid opponents and win a pre-season tournament. At the same time, there is so much room for improvement, it is exciting. Our offense is dead at times, and we know based on last year, it will get better. Park is still getting his feel. You can tell with Rubles that it is there. Jackson needs to cut down on turnovers. Our big guys just need to keep it high and finish around the basket....all of these thing are correctable. I'm super excited. Consider where we were in the preaseason last year people. We are off to a great start.

I speak of the 2nd half. Dont lie to yourself because their was zero transition game. Thats when we struggle. Our half court is not drive and dish, it is dribble around the 3pt line and hand the ball off to another guard with our back to the basket

Did you watch the 2nd half?

I missed the last 5 min or so of the 2nd but I was giving credit to the team for getting the W. The part I saw was frustrating

Also, also...this board was freaking out about free throws in our cupcake games. This past weekened, we shot 74% from the FT lane. Kudos to our boys.

Uc will be undefeated during ooc. There's not one team they will face that will have more talent than them.

Enjoy the ride. The media will be all over us very soon. Mick is a coaching genius

Get a grip. We started the 2nd half without our PG. We with stood a rally when many teams would have folded. We kept fighting and playing hard. Are we as smooth as we will be later in the year, NO.Roles are being defined and playing time is being earned. If You watched that game and didn't come away with Thomas,Sanders and Rubles are going to be much better later in the year You missed more than the last 5 minutes.Wrap your head around this we are a developing team that lost their post presence in Yancy and in Dixion our 2nd ball handler. We have 3 of our 4 biggs seeing their first significant action against this type of competition and a young back up PG and we are still 6-0 and ranked in top 25.If we were at the end of Dec. and still making dumb mistakes like last 2 minutes of first half and not improved I'll worry. Right now I see a very exciting team that plays VERY hard and wins games.Your certainly entitled to your opinion but you may want to examine the situation with a little more open mind. We have a good team to root for and our coach has done a great job reviving this program.

This has what to do with dribbling the ball around the 3pt line....

4 possessions in a row we didnt get the ball inside the 3pt line till under 10sec on the shot clock. I dont care if we have Michael Jordan, that is not going to get it done

The only problem with Cincinnati Fans is we are too complacent.

While I hope they win every game. Whats more important is that we are playing our best basketball come NCAA Tourney time. Continue to get better and stay healthy. The real season starts in March. If he wins a title I'll proclaim him a coaching genius. Right now he is just a very good coach. Ed Jucker was a coaching genius.

We didn't play a perfect game. Its early. Were we careless with the ball and certainly have room to improve. Because i choose to evaluate their performance different than you does not make me complacent. We have good talent and are developing. Your assumtions 6 games into the season are comical. If there is a problem with our fan base its maybe that they think they know the game better than they do. The other problem with them is they don't buy tickets and attend games.

Im judging this based on Micks tenure here. It was Lance's fault there was no ball movement. It was DV fault we werent scoring. I just want to see results. Its an obvious assumption not just from this season, but previous that these teams have no flow offensively. It doesnt matter who is on the team.

Can you imagine if we had a decent offense to go along with this tenacious D?? It gives me the chills thinking about how good these teams could be.
