I guess there's different ways to feel even if you lose. I understand the frustration of looking over matched. I mean I was watching Xavier last night and was thinking if they lose this game to Marquette, big deal, Xavier looked really good, they are a good team you can just tell by watching them, and Marquette was draining 3s and looking extremely good their selves. So I can agree, if we truly want to be considered elite and feel better about our team even if we lose a game, we can't look like the team we were against Florida and Xaiver. All we can do is trust the process. Things will be alright we just need to keep grinding. We are still in line for an amazing year. Just need to hope we continue to see improvement. I think Cane really can get us over the hump.

I agree with this, I guess for the first time since Cronin has been here, I’m starting to question the process.

I kinda am too which I hate to even say it, but I don't think its worth the discussion quite yet until after the season. I still have high hopes.

Doesn’t sound like it because I actualy have some questions about the team and how they have performed instead of saying the everything is great? Ok

Just because you think the team is not performing the way you would like at this point doesn't make you a bad fan. I myself have questions. But the fact is we are 11-2. 2-2 against the meat of our schedule. Part of our issue is that we are playing away from home and I really believe that is more of a impact then many want to believe. The renovation is affecting our players preparation and how we were forced to schedule. Two very big issues in my mind. I also believe the loss of TC has been a bigger adjustment then many would like to think. I do see us growing and trending up but we still have work to do. I think coach is still trying to settle on a rotation which has made who he plays and who he starts a bit of a challenge.

Doesn't sound like it bc you keep saying things like "we can still turn things around" and "I am disappointed with how we've played this year". Then you say "I get that teams lose but we didn't look like a great team in those games". What world do you live in where college teams routinely look great in losses against competent teams? The whole reason we lost is bc we didn't play well. It just sounds like you expect a Top 5 team, that must play like it every single game. That's ridiculous. I mean, did you predict that we'd go 31-0? Or was is 26-5, with a stipulation that we must play great in the 5 losses? And how would playing great in a loss be better for you? Wouldn't that just show that we aren't that good? If we play great, we should beat any team in America. Suggesting you'd be more accepting of a loss if we play great contradicts your expectation of being a Top 5 team.

I'm just not sure when we became Wooden's UCLA to you. UC Basketball is as good as it has ever been. These are not professionals that you are watching. Keep that in mind and try to enjoy it.

How did some of our fans get here? We're 11-2, we've been ranked all year, and we're Top 10 in the preferred ranking. How did that become not good enough? Do you people not remember previous seasons?

I think some peoples expectation was a bit higher. Considering we just came off a very lackluster football season, the Reds have been abysmal and the Bengals have not been good many were anxiously waiting the Cats to hit the ground running.

what is wrong with these statements? "I am disappointed in how we played" and "we can still have a good year" and "I get that teams lose but we didn't look like a great team in those games"? All these can be true.

well i am not the only one that has questions, so maybe no one is watching any games. maybe its just you
bottom line is this we played horrible against X and Florida. We literally threw the game away against Florida, 21 turnovers. Many unforced. We were beat from start to finish against X. Didn't guard and didn't board. The team righted itself after two bad performances and beat Miss. St. easily and headed West and beat UCLA in Pauley handily. Beating them in their place was not a easy assignment. Other then those four games I really can't tell much from the games we played. This team has talent but it is far from perfect. The task is to keep improving. Coach specializes in getting his teams to play hard. It is our identity. Having more talent will not change the fact that we must play hard to win. Sometimes that can look ugly.

and really i will point towards having so much time off around those games. layout of the schedule did us no favors.

i would also expect us to come out very sloppy for memphis, but hopefully it goes away quickly.

I’ve said numberous Times, it isn’t the end of the world and the season is not over. This team can still have a great year. I can’t say it any more clearly than that. I am strickly grading from what I’ve seen and admittly there isn’t much to go on with our schedule. 2 bad performances and 2 good. That’s average. And I expected more. That’s my bad

The good thing about this is that the 2 good performances were after the two bad performances. I think we responded pretty well. We are doing this with Cumberland not quite playing up to expectations.

Insert Cane into the starting lineup and get him 30+ minutes in big games and then get Cumberland going! That team will be able to play some high level basketball!!

The idea that we have to look like a great team in losses or else you'll be disappointed is silly when you also say you expect to be a Top 5 team. When Top 5 teams play great against non-Top 5 teams, they don't lose. It's a contradiction.

And talking about still being able to turn things around is laughable. We're 11-2. Even in you thought we should go 13-0 (you never said that), 11-2 is hardly something that is so dire that you need to talk about turning things around. If anyone else on earth saw UC and #9 and KenPom and heard the fans saying that we can still turn things around, they'd rightfully laugh in our faces. Your expectations are your expectations. Fine. But they are not grounding in anything that can be considered reasonable.

agree the layoff could be a contributing factor.

11-2 with a SOS around 200-300. ( I don’t know exact number)

How is it unreasonable to think a good to great team will play good to great? Is it unreasonable to think they should be 12-1 or 13-0 with their schedule? Are you saying we couldn’t beat Florida or X? How are these things unreasonable? It’s not like we played 13 teams in the top 25. Why do you get so hurt by people having high expectations for this team and expecting them to preform at a high level? Why you get so hurt when someone has questions about the team. It’s ok, we still like the team.

If you have watched this team this year and thought, “this is a great team that will be a favorite in Mach”, I don’t know what to tell you. I haven’t felt like that against the best teams. I’m sorry, I wish I could say I have. If expecting them to be preseason is a bad thing, I’m guilty.

I never heard you say you expected 12-1 or 13-0. If you did, feel free to pull it up. If not, throw that entire conversation in the garbage can.

It is unreasonable to expect amateur teams to play well every game. Just not gonna happen. And I'm glad we can point to not playing well as a reason for losing. Playing great and losing would be much more concerning. That'd show that our ceiling isn't a Top 5 team, as people like you expect. So I'll say it again...you expecting the team to look great in losses AND be a Top 5 team is a contradiction.

And the idea that you think I'm hurt by people having high expectations doesn't even warrant a response.

I don’t even understand your argument at this point. What have I said that you disagree with? The team didn’t play well against x and Florida. I expected them to play better. And by playing better, yes maybe win. Teams in loses do tend to play bad. There are exceptions (Florida vs Duke this year). My expectations along with many others thought they would be great team. I heard many people say this was the best team in the Cronin era. To me they haven’t look like it. (Atleast not yet). You seem to think I am saying something completely out of line.

I don't like repeating myself. Go back and read if you want to know what I disagree with. It's all there.
