Jarron sitting out this game may prove to be a huge benefit.

Jarron gets to get healthy. Keith and Scott step up and show they can take over scoring - Jarron should see that and know he doesn't have to do it all once he comes back.

We also got to see Diarra take over on defense once he came in the second half. No reason for the silly 1-3-1, just let Diarra play man - his rotations are so much better than Vogt's it's almost like a different defense anyway. If we hadn't been down by so much, I doubt Brannen would have made the switch to Diarra.

The second half felt like we were watching a traditional UC team. Energy on defense, not giving them open looks, grabbing boards and playing good enough offense.

When he’s playable, at times he isn’t. Hopefully can minimize the dumb plays.

Didn't we used to whine about Mick's short leash with players.

Diarra is the exact kinda player where a short leash hurts him more than helps him. Once he is the flow of the game, he is much better

But that's the thing.. Jarron hasn't tried to do it all.

In fact, he's played far more PG than scoring guard. He took 7 shots, which I believe was 3rd on the team, against Houston.

He tries to get everyone involved and really only forces shots when he had to close a big lead.

Keith and Tre saved the season for another game... that’s what your upper class man do ... they bail you out when you need it

Add Dou to the list of player who everyone thought sucked in year 1 and now has shown some promise.

He's only a Soph. 2 more years of Dou is good.

I think if Vogt is going to be NKU version of himself, then we need to start and play Dou.

Let Vogt matchup against the bench guys.

John Calipari always talks about the Tweak... DOU IS OUR TWEAK.

its also 110 point pace. thats brannen offense?

Yea, but it felt to me like it was the Defense that sparked the offense in the run.

I have zero concerns with the offense, I've already said that.

Our first half defense was awful. In the 2nd half, we coupled elite defense with Brannen offense and won by double digits. something we haven't done in a long while because the two things never seem to click with each other

Agreed and the defense is generally sparked by two players - Diarra and McNeal. They are they high energy sparks we need off the bench - though Diarra played tonight like he should be the starter.

Tre Scott has to be a player of the year contender.

He’s playing better then gary Clark ever did with less help

Scott now has 11+ rebounds in 9 consecutive games. He has shown some good post moves and even the ability to handle the ball and make good passes. He should undoubtedly be first team all conference and may have a better case for conference player of the year than Jarron.

Your kidding right? They are a little different but Scott is nowhere near Gary in the paint or in blocking shots.

I'm with Justin. They have different games, but I think it's fair to say Scott right now is at least as good as senior Gary Clark.

Clark was a better shot blocker, but Scott is a better perimeter defender. Clark was a better offensive rebounder, but Scott is better at rebounding.

Clark was a better shooter, but Scott is a better ball handler and passer. Recently Scott has taken a massive jump at scoring. He now has 4 20 point games this season, Clark had 2 20 point games as a senior.

Basically, they are both great players and I think we'd be happy to have either one of them.

Ignoring the insane

That has to be one of our most valuable wins right? Quad 2 road game with 10+ point victory?

which shows how silly the quad system can be.

You definitely could make the argument with tre’s stats of late, but gary did every single little thing you could possibly do, you can’t replace a gary Clark
