Let's keep it in perspective guys. Teague would be an absolute steal but it sounds like as if we have a great shot at Burton.

Of course I would love to have both but if we get one of the two I'd call that a step forward.

I was referring to Burton. I am not too optimistic about landing Teague, although I am still holding out hope, but I am very excited about the possibility of adding Burton. Hopefully it happens.

I like your style... I have always said I play defense by outscoring my man on offense.

ANd I have never seen anyone score on defense, when I do then I will start playing.

I cant wait for these decision to start coming out.

Hello I have been a fan of this message board for a while and love all this recruiting attention. I hate to check into players myspace pages and stuff but did with this kids and on it he does have a cincinnati(reds) hat on, not to say that he will automatically come here but i think it is looking better everyday. I know that there is alot of attention on the marquis teague recruitment but i feel that there is so many talented athletes year after year that i want someone who wants to be here and will play hard. So rankings dont matter to me but intensity and passion do so lets get this guy signed up. thanks for all the info!!!!!!!

Good first post and you are correct about the Teague situation... it would be great, amazing, to land him... but if UC doesn't it isn't the end of the world... Burton would be a great addition to the team... keep turning that roster over Mick... we want players who are ready to put it on the line every time out on the court...

I live in Phoenix, AZ and I see more kids wearing reds hats here than Diamondbacks or any other ballcap for that matter. It's just a fashion thing I guess. I yell " go reds!" every time I see them and get weird looks because I don't think they know what that C stands for.

The Reds hat is one of the most popular, thanks to pop culture and rap... I see a lot of them here in Chicago...

the reds hat is associated with the bloods, and the yankees hat is associated with the crypts.

obviously every kid who wears them is not associated with that gang, but as a result, they have become very, very popular hats and have a lot of "street cred". wearing a reds hat is considered by many members of the african american community as simply an in style thing right now, the same way a yankees hat does. again- it no longer implies gang affiliation, but a high number of rappers who used/still do wear both has pretty much made it mainstream for all people to wear them nowadays. if every recruit who wore a reds hat was going to UC, we'd be national champs every year.
