'11 IN PG Marquis Teague (Kentucky Verbal)

Here's my problem. I am such an eternal optimist that I fully believe guys like Teague are coming to UC until they make their formal announcement and say they're not. So instead of tempering my expectations over the past couple weeks and softening the blow, I'll be hit with the full force of this disappointment.

I'm sure Teague doesn't want to disappoint me -- random internet fanboy -- like that. So his only choice is to come to UC.

At least you are willing to let go once players pick to go elsewhere. Some people still think players are coming even after they commit elsewhere. ;)

I am with you on this though. While I think the chance is about 1 in 100, I still expect to hear he is coming and will be disappointed when WWW writes that check or whatever he does.

So you're saying there's a chance!:D

Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber...you do something like this...AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!!!!!

Classic.

(Thread hijack..now complete) edit...almost complete.

Just for show

Speaking of just for show, did anyone see the UC hat on display at the Masters on Sunday? On one of the final few holes, a teenager was sitting with his dad (presumably) wearing a red UC hat with the c-paw logo on it. The kid was in the background several times proudly displaying his UC hat. Hopefully, Teague is doing the same thing only as the center of attention soon!

As was mentioned earlier Teague will announce on the 22nd. Below was reported today:

The Pike High School star, who is ranked No. 2 in the nation in the 2011 class, told The Indianapolis Star today that he will announce his college choice April 22.

The announcement is expected to be televised live on one of the ESPN networks, Teague said.

Teague is widely projected to be heading to either Kentucky or Louisville.

Teague said Friday he is still considering all five finalists: Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana University, Purdue and Cincinnati.

You would have to think that Mick already knows the outcome, right? I doubt the coaches are going to be watching in suspense. I'd be curious if anyone (the_one_32 or greatone or BA1) hears anything leading up to it.

Based on what I know Jason, I'm not sure he knows. I truly believe, just my opinion on my info, that he is torn between the schools. I think there are 3 factors here:

1) Kentucky prestige and NBA Prep

2) Long time relationship with Coach Pitino - comfort, known winner

3) Outstanding relationship with Coach Cronin and familiarity with the team and campus.

It will be interesting to see which wins out.

Thanks Jeff. So it looks like we may actually have a suspensfull decision on one of the ESPN networks instead of signing day where they already had Calipari scheduled to talk about his soon to be new recruits.

Apparently elite 2011 PG Tony Wroten out of Seattle now wants to go to UK to play with Mike Gilchrist. Hopefully, he commits soon and that pushes Teague to UC. Teague is tracking as the #1 player in the 2011 class and is said to be on the Derrick Rose, John Wall level. Getting him would save Mick's job until at Teague would step on campus at least.

This was taken from Banter. Hopefully there is a lot of truth to it. I don't see why UK would take Wroten if they thought they had Teague, but maybe Teague to UK is not as sure of a thing as some seem to believe.

I'll take any possible good news I can get... :)
