I got word yesterday from a source that God's Gift is still on the table. We didn't discuss Jurick or his visit, but he assured me Gift is still in the mix.

I know God's Gift is still on the table. Had to pull the trigger on one big when you could get them. Absolutely couldn't whiff. Gift is still in play.

I'll take your word for it then. I guess it is just my biased midwest opinion. I just don't see GG coming from NY wanting to play all the way out there, in a mediocre Pac 10. But, we shall see.

Just my opinion, but the guy's from Africa so why would Washington be any different from Ohio or New York?

St. Johns is really starting to give Jamari Traylor a lot of love. Makes me wonder where all this stands with them. Think people are assuming UC is out based on scholarships.

UW has decided not to honor their commitment to juco pf Kevin Davis. That leaves only GG and Richard Peters who was formally committed to Oklahoma and has yet to achieve a qualifying ACT score as low post prospects. They are in the mix for Wally Judge but that likely will not help them till the 2012-13 season. Can you say thin front line?

That's good to hear. Adding him would really give us depth in the post. Right now I would consider us a little thin down low.

Read into this what you will. Sounds like what I've been telling you I've heard is true:

Cincinnati is also a viable candidate. The Bearcats have one more scholarship available despite recently landing a JUCO big man of their own in Cheikh Mbodji ,

It would appear that even if Mick does not land GG, there will be 1 scholarship available. That means that as of now, one of the incoming recruits will not qualify, or Parker has told the staff that he will transfer, and this has not been made public. Although the speculation here (and elsewhere)has been on Ellis not qualifying or opting for a prep year, I saw on Ncaabbs site that it may be Guyn. My preference would be for Parker to transfer, as I think he is the odd man out, and all the recruits to qualify.

That very well may be the case. However, it also could be that zags just sees UC still in the mix for GG and assumes there is one more scholarship available. Not sure anyone really knows at this point. My gut feeling says that if one of the incoming recruits won't qualify, it would be Ellis and not Guyn (just based on Guyn's twitter). But I know that doesn't mean anything.

if parker transfers we have 5 returning players. no reserves off the bench have any experience. are you sure that is what you want?

parker got lost in the mix this year. mick even said you cant play 6 guys on the perimeter like uc did. keep in mind a year ago, a lot of people wanted him to start over wright. it just blows my mind how quickly people cast off a player. going into next season with no experienced players off the bench would be a nightmare.

I'm not in favor of casting off a player, but if it came down to Parker vs Guyn or Davis not being on the team next year, I would choose Parker. I just didn't see much from Parker when he was given a chance last year, and am not sure if there is room for him on this years team. From all reports, Guyn can handle the back-up point guard duties, and Davis is a very good 3 point shooter. Their skill sets may be better than what Parker can provide. The down side is of course the lack of experience, but the majority of the minutes for the backcourt (positions 1-3) will go to a combination of Cash, DD, SK, Sanders, and Shaq. The 10-15 minutes per game needed from the trio of Guyn, Davis, or Parker would be better served by Guyn or Davis, as they still have 4 years left in the program, and likely have more of an upside.
