IMO, if it is indeed between UC, St. Johns and Washington I feel like I like our chances quite well. If I was a player I can not really see a better place than UC between those other schools. St. Johns is bringing in a ton of kids, talented ones at that which will all be demanding playing time I am sure. As for Washington, well I am sure it is pretty out there but basketball wise, not really seeing a huge factor that would bring GG out there.

God’s Gift Achiuwa, the junior college power forward from Erie Community College who visited UC last weekend, is scheduled to visit Washington this weekend and St. John’s next weekend before deciding where he’ll play next season.

Achiuwa, a native of Nigeria, averaged 23 points and 12.5 rebounds last season and a first-team junior college All-American.

Erie coach Alex Nwora said Achiuwa had a good visit to UC. “He likes the program,” Nwora said. “He’s just going to visit the other schools before he makes a decision.”

Washington has been pretty good (better than UC) for several years now. Romar has done an excellent job and he has been getting very good recruits to go there. I wouldn't downplay UW at all.

I agree. Romar is a good recruiter and the Washington campus is beautiful.

I'll take your word for it then. I guess it is just my biased midwest opinion. I just don't see GG coming from NY wanting to play all the way out there, in a mediocre Pac 10. But, we shall see.

SJU is bringing in a ton of players, but only 1 other post player. considering they lose 10 seniors, there is a lot of PT to be had there.

as for washington, theyve been to the sweet 16 three times in last six years. not too shabby

I'm more worried about SJU's but Washington is a serious threat as well. At this point I don't think he commits to UC.

With getting Cheikh Mbodji, does this mean GG is out of the question?

No. If UC were set, juirck wouldn't be visiting this weekend and they would have released a statement announcing the signing. Since you are only allowed one press release and that hasn't happened yet, you can bet things are still playing out. That doesn't mean we will defnitely get GG, but that door isn't closed yet.

jurick is visiting!? thats great news i have loved this kid since we started recruiting him.
It sounds like then since we have a commitment and are still recruiting two more bigs that somebody currently on the team wont be here next year or somebody isnt going to qualify.
