Hopefully the staff gets a commitment soon. I know it will all work itself out but the uncertainty right now is killing me.

What's interesting is his coach has said he would visit UC and then there would be "tentative" visits to follow. They would see how it goes. He has also recently said GG would take all his visits and would not commit this weekend. If the latter is true it could be a couple weeks before we know.

someone had to have heard something about the visits this weekend by now...we are all starving here for info.

I have a gut feeling that Uc has Cheikh in the bag and they are waiting to see if God pulls the trigger. After its all said and done, Cheikh will be the player Cincy gets and either UK or UW will get gg. I dont want another soft player on this squad. Hook another beast up with a motivated Yancey and we will be looking good.

Hope you're not implying GG is soft. He plays with a lot of energy and effort. UC has been on God's Gift for a long time now. UW and UK are johnnie come lately's. Hopefully that helps push the Bearcats over the top in this process.

I think he was implying Cheikh is soft. But I'm not sure any of us really know anything about him, so I'm not sure that is fair. Really hope we land GG though.

I have no inside info but i think we get this kid since we have shown the most love..

i dont think that is going to matter if kentucky comes calling. mick and cal already had a little confrontation over teague, i cant imagine how that'd escalate if this happened.

People give the almighty kentucky way too much credit. Two big men just went elsewhere yesterday and the uk fan base who claim to all have inside information thought these guys were going to uk. At least one of them. Cal can only cheat with so many guys and he has shown no interest in GG up to this point. He might start to now but this is nothing like the Teague situation. There was much more to that than the jersey saying kentucky.

i was implying that cheikh was soft(from what i have read). i would love to have gg to complement Gates. As for KY, they will get whoever they want. exspecially after a final four run.. i hate Cal and the KY wildcats.

If that is the case, why did they not get either Simpson or Anderson of which both they have been recruiting for a while? They only get who they want when all the pieces are in place. They cannot make that happen with everyone. People are on to Calipari and these two bigs going elsewhere just proves that. They will always compete for recruits regardless of the coach but he is going to bail before he gets caught and everyone knows he is gambling so they pursue other options when the price is not right. Options like Memphis and Kansas, etc.

So are his other visits set in stone now? It seems as recently as yesterday some were saying he was visiting and others said they were tentative.

I've seen conflicting statements on this. Initially his coach said after the visit to UC "they'd see". Definitely leads one to believe there is a reasonable belief there may be a commitment. Also read that his coach said he'd take his visits. His goal is to make a decision this month. I still think there is an excellent shot of him being a Bearcat.
