I'm not pretending to be an expert or anything and I know Obepka is pretty highly touted, but to me it seems that Ennis is a better fit for what we need or more importantly what we are lacking. I know we're not strong at the 4/5 positions, but we not exactly lacking depth. PG is a position we are lacking depth, especially with Cash being a senior. If Obepka were a better offensive threat I would have a completely different opinion, but a large part of me would rather land Ennis if we only get one. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but does anyone else share these sentiments? Regardless, whoever is the first to agree to sign I would happily take. Don't want to tell someone no and find the other guy goes elsewhere, then you miss both. And I just have a feeling that if Obepka were going to come here he would've signed already. To still be holding out at this point and taking such a late visit to Oregon of all places (not exactly a powerhouse) makes me think he's chasing a paycheck or something. Just my opinion.

I know a lot of people have been concerned with the waiting period Obekpa has taken. While I'm not one of those people, I agree with you that Ennis is looking just as attractive. I want both in a perfect world but at the end of the day, I would be happy getting either. I think they would both help our teams in different, yet significant ways.

It just seems like even as a freshman that Obekpa would be the most logical to start in the low post. I've seen nothing from Mbodj that impresses me. Dude has bad handles on rebounding, which is something we need badly. Not sure Ellis is ready. Gaines intrigues me, but for whatever reason doesn't get time on the floor. Rubles seems more like a 3 or 4, than a 5.

I want both Obekpa and Ennis. I hope they both decide on UC and Mick finds a way to make it work.

Agree I think cheik starts at the beginning of the year but I could see obepka starting by mid season. Cheik is going to be better than he was this year. Mick even stated that cheik is much better than what he showed due to two ankle blowouts a 6 game suspension which all led to a lack of confidence. He is not yancy but should have a decent year I think. Could u imagine shaquile Thomas obepka and Ellis at the 3 4 and 5 in year three? They need a floor general and a big time scoring guard and in a few years we could be scary. The future is bright.

I keep forgetting ellis and thomas are still freshman, That is an awsome frontline, we should outrebound everyone every game in the future and be in the top 10 for shots blocked for a team.

Losing Yancy and Dion we'll be felt but gaining Obekpa,Ennis,Thomas,Ellis and Rubles would be huge. That would be a nice starting 5 for alot of schools.

Jeff any feeling on Ennis???

My guess is a slight Nova lean but UC right there. He feels strongly he'd start next year with Cash gone.

It would be nice to pick up our PG for 2013 this year and have him practice even if he isn't able to play until 2013. Having him here with the team would be a huge benefit. It would also open up the recruitint a little if we had our PG on board a year early.

Per Rothstein, Tony Chennault transferring from wake to Nova. That likely eliminates Nova for Dylan Ennis. It will be interesting to see what happens if we land Obekpa.

I'm going to be as politically correct as possible. I hope if we take Dylan Ennis, we have a firm understanding that we are "in the door" with Tyler ennis.

Although I'd like it to, I don't think getting Chennault means Nova won't get Ennis. Also, while it will definitely help our chances, the brothers are by no means a package. Tyler has his recruiting wide open and has stated that his recruitment is not dictated by where his brother ends up. Here's to hoping though...

I think we all agree that would be nice but we want Dylan because of his talent and not because we think it could get his brother here.

Has anyone here actually seen Dylan play? I have not so unfortunately I can only go on his stats. His numbers against good teams were not very good, but I'd love to hear someones opinion on him that has actually seen him play.

Former Rice G @canadiankidDJE will announce tomorrow between Villanova & Cincinnati, @BounceTTCAAU tells @SNYtv

"Yeah, its true. I will be deciding between Cinncinati and Villanova tomorrow."

Positives: He mentioned us first
Negatives: He doesn't know how to spell Cincinnati

Haha kidding...happy to get some closure. Hope tomorrow brings good news for the cats.

Which brings us to the obvious question..... if he chooses the red and black tomorrow does that have an effect on obekpa? I would guess not since he has been our number 1 target for a long time. Things could get very interesting......

One will not effect the other imo.
