Ha!That's great! Quick, more negative critiques. A highly motivated Zach Randolph type player is exactly what this team needs.
Exactly.

IMO anyone who isn't excited about Jamaree and really all the guys in this class is crazy or just completely in the dark about what kind of players these guys are.Just remember big man, many of us are excited to see you in a Bearcat uniform next season . Light it up!!
Well, it looks like Jamaree is checking out Bearcattalk, checking out him. LOL.
From Twitter today:

I think peoples critiques are funny. I personally use them as motivation http://www.bearcattalk.com/showthread.php?t=6935&page=11 …

Hey Jamaree - looking forward to you coming down here. Or is that "up" here- LOL, nevermind.

Every time I take a look I see these guys winning games for their teams and putting up ridiculous numbers.
Troy Caupain has become a one man demolition crew in VA. They are throwing two, three guys on him and he is still posting sick numbers all across the stat sheet. He and KJ both have a great shot at state titles.
Lawrence needs to heal up his hand, but when healthy the guy is practically unguardable.
Haven't been able to follow Deshaun Morman nearly as easily. Getting box scores from his games and Jamaree's games is tough, but they always seem to show up in the recaps for "best performers".
I was very bummed that the Queen City Prep v. Hargrave game that was supposed to happen in Scott Cty Kentucky got cancelled. I know a lot of bearcat fans were talking about making the trip to check that game out.
All the "if you are reading this" post are pretty disturbing
You are disturbing, BearcatMick's other IP.
Hahaha, that's awesome!
I just find it strange to be posting messages to a 18 year old kid hoping he reads your message.
I don't hope he reads them, he said he does. Gotta be careful with what you say.....
jack in your opinion does Strickland have the skills to provide a post presences next year? I mean will he at least draw a defender.Chad Brendel @chbrendel
RT @CaliSwag_510 good team win. i had 13 points, 15 rebounds...
Very difficult to predict. All reports are that he is just getting better and better as he continues to get into shape. With some of the offensive numbers he has put up against good competition I dont think it would be a stretch to say he will probably be the most polished offensive big man Mick has brought in since Yancy. Important things to keep in mind though are that he is going to be a freshmen, he hasnt played a lot of basketball the last 4 years because of injuries, he has had 2 knee surgeries, and has at least 4 other players competing for minutes at the positions he will play. So the best answer is who knows. I could see him coming in and dominating and getting major minutes(With the production our big men have given us this year you would have to think minutes for the 4 and 5 positions will be up for grabs). I could also see him having a limited role and having to develop like most freshmen do. He, I think, is the biggest mystery of the class.
This class is my favorite of Mick's tenure. It still lacks a true knock down shooter but has several scorers. That said, I am a big Caupain and Lawrence fan, but I'm most excited about Jamaree and Mormon.
Jamaree has the potential, size and skill to be what this program hasn't had in many years, and I include Yancy in this, and that is a big man who understands and accepts his role on the low block. He has a go to move prior to arriving on campus and can actually score effectively with his back to the basket. He also is an effective and willing rebounder. How that translates in year one we will see.
The earlier he can get to campus and work with Cincinnati's strength and conditioning team the better, and he will benefit greatly from it physically. You have to love Jamaree's mental toughness to be able to overcome his injuries and remake his body. That speaks volumes about this young man's desire and heart. Qualities of a true Bearcat.
Mormon is simply a hardnosed tough kid. He will give UC the same qualities that Dion Dixon gave us and honestly I think that is the biggest thing this team lacks. Dixon would slam the ball with attitude off of offensive rebounds, breaks, or drives and he was tough defensively. Mormon has an attack mindset much the same and he is tough as nails and physically strong.
Tough to predict freshmen impact as Jack said, and I'm not saying these two will have the most impact, just that they are the two that have elements I think will really add to the program.
I love Caupains ability to get in the lane and score or be fouled and hit foul shots. I think KJ has that smooth killer, smart basketball, make a play air about him and his mid-range game and quickness excites me. Lawrence is a consensus top 25 recruit for a reason and could be a potential match up nightmare with his size and skill. This is a strong class and is underrated nationally in my opinion.
Next question: What happens since we over signed? Gaines loses scholly? KJ goes prep? It shall be interesting.....
I don't think anyone loses a scholarship. I don't think Cronin is the type of coach that would strip a player's scholarship. At least I hope not. Tim Crowell was a strange situation, as far as I know, in that it was mutually agreed that his opportunities were limited at UC, that he would enjoy more playing time at a different institution.
I hate the idea of speculating on whether one particular player will lose a scholarship. As Jamaree's tweet illustrates, it is possible that the players read this blog, as well. With that said, Gaines has shown improvement, and he still has two years of eligibility. It's also easy to forget that you can't teach size and heart, two qualities that KG has. It may yet click for him. I think we all remember Eric Hicks - after his sophomore year, I doubt any fan would have been able to predict his tremendous impact as a junior and senior. I really believe that KG, although perhaps never a starter, will have a solid role on this team in the next two years, and I'm glad he's a Bearcat.
Regardless of what happens, I think the staff will figure something out, whether one player takes a prep year, or whether they ask a player to pay one year's tuition and designate that player as a walk-on. Also: SK may declare for the draft, which would turn this discussion into a non-issue.
