Point guard
Gladstone, New Jersey
Gill St Bernards School
Ht:6'1"
Wt:185 lbs
Class:2013 (High School)

Strengths:
Sina is a super skilled guard with a lethal jump shot. He has an effortless stroke that is virtually automatic when in rhythm from anywhere inside of 25 feet, is equally effective shooting off the catch or the dribble, and can also make tough contested shots late in the shot clock. He handles efficiently vs. pressure, has a terrific feel for the game, is a pinpoint passer, and has a tremendously high basketball I.Q. He can play either guard position, has good poise with the ball in his hands, and is very crafty using shot fakes and jab steps to create space for himself on the perimeter.

Weaknesses:
The biggest uncertainty with Sina is how he progresses physically. While he isn't overly quick or athletic right now it is entirely possible that he is still growing some and hasn't finished filling out his frame or growing into his body. He has a tendency to try to do a little too much at times, playing with the ball at times and trying to make home-run plays instead of using his versatile skills to make the easy play. Defensively he's solid and can only occasionally be exposed against quicker players.

Bottom Line:
Sina is skilled and cerebral beyond his years with a pretty strong body for a guard his size. Although not a high level athlete, Sina is one of the top shooters in the class of 2013.

Coach Savino was in attendance watching him play over the weekend.

Chances are his recruitment will open back up. Not a knock on him, just a fact of present day recruiting. Teenagers make decisions in a moment of emotion and later question it. If the commit holds, Bama has a good player.

so every committed recruit in 2012 has a good chance of opening their recruitment?

A lot of them do. Look at Chane. He committed to Mick and UC early and eventually opened it back up. To make an absolute statement like "every committed recruit in 2012" is a bit strong and foolish but in today's game of recruiting, nothing is over especially this early.

Of course some do. but again, you could say it about every player that committed and hasn't signed. I haven't seen anything about this kid that points to a decomittment especially with a head coach that isn't going anywhere.

btw, Chane committed waaay before this kid (relatively speaking). 2012 isn't that far away. The 2012 commitments are going to start rolling in pretty soon for a lot of schools.

This kid is a 2013 player not 2012 so it isn't too much different.

I hate seeing kids commit as frosh or sophs. So much can happen.

The kid stops developing. He develops very well and new schools get involved. Coach moves or gets fired. They recruit other kids at your position, and on and on.

I don't think they should be able to commit till their junior year. But I also think they should be able to go to the NBA right out of school. But if they go to college they have to stay 3 years.

I agree but if they did that, how would Calipari be able to field a team?
