I still think in the end Lawrence ends up at Syracuse but it's good to see UC is getting a visit. They are important because players get a feel of the campus and the players. Perry wanting to leave home was always a question but UC had a very good shot at landing him. You can basically stick Obekpa in that same category. Nobody would be happier than me to see Lawrence in a Bearcat uniform!!

Jermaine Lawrence, one of the most sought after forwards in the Class of 2013, visited St. John’s Friday for Midnight Madness and has several other visits coming up this fall.

“My family and I enjoyed St. John’s Midnight Madness, but we are not making any decisions at this time,” Lawrence said in a statement. “We still have other schools to visit.”

The 6-foot-10 senior from Pope John XXIII (N.J.) plans to take visits to Cincinnati, Syracuse, UNLV and Kansas over the next few months. No dates are currently scheduled.

Lawrence is also considering UCLA and Kentucky and will sign in the spring.

I tell ya......I coulda sworn Syracuse had some academic issues that the NCAA was investigating last season, but it's kind of foggy in my mind right now. Did I imagine this or is it real?

I remember a story about their athletes being investigated for drugs or something. Maybe failed drug teests that went unpunished. It was something that didn't violate NCAA rules but violated the schools rules.

SU had Bernie Fine and Melo academic issues last year.

Lawrence has cut his list to St. Johns, UNLV, Syracuse and Cincinnati according to Alex Kline.

My final list is UNLV, St Johns, Syracuse and Cincinnati. Looking forward to this upcoming season. Still making my decision in the spring.

Awesome, made the cut. Not that I expect it, but it would be awesome to snatch him in the spring when we have a huge year on the court. Now the question will be, if by some miracle we get him, would you keep Gaines or drop his scholarship and sign Morman, or get both if SK leaves.

Syracuse is also in the final 3 for Tyler Roberson along with Kansas and Villanova. He's said to be deciding in the next week and some believe he will be Syracuse bound. Even without Roberson, Syracuse already has two forwards, one at 6"6' and one at 6"9', committed. Lawrence is a good enough player to not necessarily have to worry about PT but there could be a logjam for minutes on the wing for them in the future.

With our best season in a decade coming up, get him in for a visit against a good Big East team and hope for the best.

Lawrence would play the 4 in UC's offense, I assume.

Currently Jackson and Rubles are manning the 4 spot. Both will be seniors next year when Lawrence will be a frosh for someone. Lawrence could almost assume he's the starting 4 in UC's offense his sophomore year.
