Jermaine Lawrence and Dominic Woodson are at the top of the Cats big man wish list. As for Johnson he is at the bottom of guards that I want. No doubt he is a talented player and you can never recruit too many of those but I just like Morris, Rector, and Brown more at this point. Feel like they fit our style and need more. Just my opinion.

Also Jujuan Johnson, Tim Quarterman and Davon Reed. Dont know how realistic those guys are though....

Not sure about Quarterman and Reed, but Johnson visited a couple weeks ago. We have some stiff competition for him but the interest is obviously serious if he visited. He would be an excellent addition.

Very good start to the 13 class. Could turn out very strong if a couple big ones go our way. Also, I like grabbing some local talent.

Hearing that in spite of other visits and interest that Kevin committing to UC is still a very high possibility. Received an email telling me that Caaupain's commitment in no way has lowered his enthusiasm for the Bearcats. Butler has offered.

Good call Jeff.

Another good and coachable kid. Got to love that. Will be interesting to see if we put our full attention on bigs now.

Have only seen highlights of Kevin but have heard multiple times by people who have seen him play that he's a big "team player." His stats weren't terrible but not anything special, like Caupain's numbers for example.

I was a little concerned when we offered him because of the competition he faces. But I was told he could average 25 a game if he wanted to. He had a very good spring against top competition as well. Hopefully he and Troy have great summers and get the ranking they deserve (although I really don't care; just would be good publicity to bring in a top recruiting class).

Johnson is a Rivals top 150 player for a reason, he is definitely a good talent. Awesome few days for the Cats.

Kevin Johnson on choosing UC: "If I'm gonna' make it happen, might as well make it happen in my own city."

Johnson said what impressed him most is what Mick Cronin preached to him about life after basketball.

I like this kid!

I'd love to listen to the whole press conference. Will have to search for it tonight once I'm home from work.

Looks like we have guard taken care of for the foreseeable future...anyone else getting a little worried about big men the next few years?....especially with Ellis being gone now.

Obviously I like JJ for 2 more years but everyone else is raw/unproven...and Shaq's more of a 3, right?

It'll all work itself out. I fully expect Mick to land a good big man in the class of 2013.

I would have to imagine some bigs are the primary focus now. It seems like we're in the running for some good players for 2013-14. Mick has been on a roll at the lately maybe the momentum continues and we land a big man or two. You're right Shaq is more of a 3. Don't forget Gaines who should make strides, Rubbles who could be a hustle "dirty work" type of player. To your point we could use some depth and players to develop.

I actually did forget briefly forget about Rubles for some reason. You gotta think between him, Cheik and Gaines that somebody will step up.

Like everyone else I'm sure, would love an impact Big Man in the 2013 class.

Getting two good guards locked up early will allow Mick and his assistants to track quality bigs all summer instead of having to follow KJ and Troy all summer as well.

I expect Mick and Savino to hound Lawrence. Coach Davis will be tracking Dominic Woodson. Coach Jackson could become more involved with Junior Etou from DC Assault, who is a solid prospect as well. And there will also be plenty of new names that will appear along the way. We'll be just fine.
