Sanders, guyn, TC, kj all have pretty respectable shots just were scared to shoot.

You better check Guyns career numbers. He is by no means a respectable three point shooter.

nor did he seem scared to shoot...

I will say his shot at least looks good. Maybe if he didn't have the shoulder issue last year his percentage would have been better. Hard to say, but I hope Guyn is fully healthy this year and can be a nice surprise. Guyn is frustrating to me because he shows some things he can do and then you never see it again. He's shown a nice floater, he's shown he can knock down the three, his on the ball defense is good, his athleticism is out of this world and you never see it. I know he played hurt last year and who really knows how much that affected him, but he is a senior now so it's time to put up or shut up. Again, hopefully he puts up and is a nice surprise.

Really? I think that was his biggest problem. No confidence at all.

I thought he looked to shoot too much at times (meaning only looking to shoot the three as opposed to stepping in or driving or running offense) and shot the ball too quick in the shot clock at times. I can agree he might have lacked confidence in his all around game and I will say he wasn't as aggressive on defense as he should've been because he was trying to not pick up fouls, but as far as taking three pointers I wouldn't say he lacked confidence in shooting. There may have been a few instances where he passed up a shot he could've taken and maybe that was a result of his shooting woes and thus lack of confidence. But as a whole on the season I would say no he wasn't "scared to shoot".

Ok thats true. He did shoot 94 3s to just 72 2s and 58 FT. Its almost like since the coaches told him to shoot and he lacked confidence in his overall game, those were just the easiest shots to take. And he did take some deeper 3s without being afriad to fire. It may have drove the fans nuts, but I see the difference.

He didn't attack as much because any contact caused his shoulder to pop out. His labrum was hanging on by a thread when they went in to repair it...

Shoulder injuries are never good. How long does it take to recover after the surgery he had? Should he be 100% by the start of the season?

Has labrum been hurting for 3yrs now. I've NEVER seen guy with reported 43in vertical not try dunk EVERY opportunity they get.

Oh wow! I had no idea it was so bad during the year. That explains a lot. Man, between him and Cash with shoulder issues...Troy better be careful.

I was really excited about GG. saw him a couple times in high school once in prep. He really drove baseline well used his athleticism to attack or hit a short pull up. Hopefully he is fully healthy this year. I'd like to see him go out strong.

Dunking is all you think about. You're ridiculous.

It really speaks to his aggressiveness (or lack there of) overall. If he feels stronger off the dribble and is confident enough in the lane to go up with big guys and take contact (sure bulldog, even a dunk or 2), we could see a GG that we've been hoping for for a while. I dont mind him splitting minutes at PG, especially as a SR, but hes gotta hold up his end offensively somehow no matter his health (makes me respect Cash that much more).

This is off topic so I will keep it short. Have you ever tried to dunk in traffic with a messed up shoulder? I imagine the pain would be excruciating.

If GG is healthy I expect him to see many minutes this year either at the 1 or 2.

Wish you would've shared this last year when he was getting dogged on here. I knew he was hurt but not that bad. I know depth was a serious issue last year so seeing him go down might have been devestating. Kudos for him for toughing it out.

Should be back to 100% but the start of practice...

Good to hear. I was worried about him not being healthy by the start of the year and even in the back of my head was worried if he somehow had to redshirt next year what that would mean for the 2015 recruiting class. I really hope as I said earlier that he comes out and surprises us all and has a really solid year. I know some of the posters on here seem pretty sold on all the youtube highlight videos these newcomers are bringing in but I for one want to count on the experience we do have returning and I would venture to guess no one has logged as many minutes as a Bearcat on the floor than Guyn.

We've been arguing Cobb or KJ or the player to be named later at the two but I wouldn't be surprised to see Guyn start the two this year.

FYI-
Sanders 96 games 1403 minutes
Guyn 99 games 1304 minutes

We'll need both of these guys. Guyn being healthy and stronger with the ball would be amazing.

And btw, I had a very short dunking career and had a hard enough time just getting it down even while completely healthy lol.

Thanks for that. I assumed Guyn logged more minutes being that he started last year and spot started when Cash was out the year before but obviously not. Either way Guyn and Sanders both have about the same experience and both have yet to really break out. Hopefully at least one breaks out this year if not both. Shaq too for that matter. The influx of talent we have is great and exciting but they all are question marks. What we know we have is the five returning players. If they can step it up then the burden won't fall as much on newcomers.
