Quentin Snider will announce his college decision this evening, per his father Scott Snider. Will choose between Illinois and UCLA.

No visit from Snider? Guess he didn't want to be too close to home. We didn't even get a visit from him. Was he disgusted by our football team that he saw at Ill on Sat? I find it hard to believe that we backed off Terrell, Carrington and Snider all because Mormon is eligible.

Next year there will be Guyn, Johnson, Morman, Caupain, Thomas, Sanders, and Davis III. That is 7 players for the 1-3 spots.

UC is losing Jackson, Rubles and Nyarsuk after this year. Meaning currently there are scheduled to be 2 front court players (Strickland and DeBerry).

It is clear the front court recruiting is a MUCH bigger priority for the staff...

I agree that recruiting 4's and 5's should be the priority, but Snider is too good of a recruit to back off of. Maybe they didn't back off... it's all rumors anyway.

I agree that we need big men for next year but if you are recruiting Terrell for 3 years and stop then there is a problem some where idc if Morman became eligible then why do you start recruiting Snider then stop again it all just a joke if you try to recruit someone and they just don't want to come that's fine but don't feed a recruit false lies and try and get him to commit to ur team and then just stop. If we needed big men all along then that's what they should have been recruiting 3 years ago not Terrell there is just something fishy going on.

You have to build relationships early in recruiting. When Mick first started recruiting Terrell, he didn't know what his roster would look like in three years. We just happened to land three young guards the class before him. Sometimes numbers just don't play out. When you only have 13 scholarships, it's tough to give 3-4 scholarships to players with the same position and skill set, and only one class apart.

If Terrell or Carrington were a great shooter, there's probably a different outcome in their recruitment. But as it stands, I doubt they'd be a talent upgrade to what we currently have, especially considering KJ and Morman will have had a year in the program already.

With Snider, it pretty much came down to kicking the tires. The kid visited two great programs in UCLA and Illinois and is ready for a decision. Not much you can do. We don't all know what goes on with these kids' recruitments. Mick probably saw the writing on the wall and didn't waste his time. I don't blame him at all. I'd rather him focus on his primary targets.

And it's not like Mick completely disregarded big men. He's targeted plenty of them, but as we all know, bigs are a dime a dozen. We all know the legit centers are coveted by all the powerhouses, and oftentimes there are big time drop-offs from the good centers on down.

The 1-3 spots, PG, SG, SF are 3 of 5 players on the court, or 60% of team, 60% X 13 players = 7.8. So we are right on target there, and could even add one and still have 5 schollies for 4-5 positions.

Why would we back of Terrell after 4 years of recruiting, why would we back off Snider, or even not actively recruit him when he mentions us as a possible destination? These players are too good to not recruit or just drop interest. Now people are saying that we dropped interest in Quadri Moore also, if the 4-5 positions are so important why can't we get him on campus? Maybe he has academic issues idk but it doesn't add up that we are just dropping interest in 4-star guards just b/c Mormon is eligible. We knew he signed a schollie and was in the fold, shouldn't have been too much of a surprise.

Like I said I hope for the best but again it seems as if the eggs in our basket are dwindling down and I don't want to see another Obekpa situation. Hopefully Cronin nails down Grantham and/or Clark this weekend, if not a lot of people will be in panic mode. Especially if they pick Seton Hall or Ok. State, schools Carrington and Terrell chose over UC (both had offers). I am not buying that we dropped interest, UC tried a few times to add players (guards) when we were at our full scholarship limit last year, why would this year be any different.

I dont have any info on the Snider or Carrington situation but I know for an absolute fact that Mick and his staff pulled the scholarship offer from Terrell. Seeing as he was the most highly rated it's logical to think the same thing happened to Carrington. Snider was nothing more than we'll throw our hat in the ring and see if we catch lightning in a bottle. As for the recruiting for 3 years thing you have no idea what your roster is going to look like. Transfers, injuries, red shirts, new recruits, ect. You recruit every need early in the process and then you narrow it down. The staff simply thinks there are greater areas of need for the future of the program. Now if they miss on Grantham and Clark that would be a tough hit but overloading with guards doesnt help the current structure of the roster.

It's just the fact that Snider said before he went to UCLA he was going to visit Cincinnati and didn't then Moore said last week he was coming here for an unofficial and now he didn't its all becoming a joke how we are letting all these recruits go to target Grantham and Clark which I think we have a good shot at Clark but Grantham doesn't seem like he will be coming to Cincinnati he never talks about us or anything but he does Michigan and Uconn. Yes he's visiting but he's visiting a lot of schools.

If Mick indeed did pull the offer from Terrell I applaud him for not over recruiting a position and having someone transfer. I hope by putting all resources on the big men will pay off. I know I am not alone in wanting to see some talented big men in the program.

Seems reasonable. However having Guyn, Sanders, and maybe JD3 wouldn't have me backing off any guards, except them of course.

oh no, uc backed off. why would uc want or need better players for? uc is clearly at a place to offer and pull ship offers. just look at our 14 class..
