Agreed, Jack. I actually like our chances too. It will be tough to convince two teenage kids that this is where they need to go together, but they seem to like us so far and we did get in early. I think Lawrence signing goes a long way in showing that this is a "cool" place for top prospects to go, and hopefully they see that.

One thing that sticks out about this kid-he is a filled out 4 star. Not 190 pound Shaq Thomas, but a big strong guy. UC needs guards like that......

#ExpressionsElite Jared Terrell, Abdul Malik Abu, and Alec Brennan will all take part in the Mary Kline Classic what a great honor.

Both will play alongside Jermaine Lawrence. Hopefully Jermaine will put in a good word.

jack how do you rate our chances for the package deal?

We are right there but there is steep competition. Abu's recruiting has really picked up and that was expected with him having elite skills for a power forward. Will be interesting to see if they actually end up as a package deal. Bearcats have been there from the beginning so I would put there chances right up there with anybody at this point. This summer will be huge for the 2014 class. Mick and Co. are in with a lot of really good players. Amazing what sustained success can do in the recruiting game. Now they just have to close the door and lock some of them down. Should be a fun summer.

Recruiting will be fluid thru the spring and early summer evaluation periods. Players flatline and others step up. Personally I think UC has a better chance of landing Terrell than Abu and I don't believe they will be a "package" deal. They could land at the same school but I don't believe their recruitment is in anyway tied together.

Jared Terrell now has offers from Florida & Kansas. Abdul Malik-Abu added a Kansas offer & NC State offer. Alec Brennan got one from Wake.

Man do I want this guy! Perfect fit for the cats. Pickup a long range shooter (Which we really need) like Mitchell. Then add a stretch four like Clarke, Abu, or Cofer. Then try to get your true big man like Moore or Bentil and we would have the best class Mick has brought in. Obviously a long way to go for all these guys but man Cronin and Co. are in there with some great talent.

Yeah the staff is definitely in on some great talent. I agree with Jeff - I think we have a realistic shot at Terrell, but not so much Abu.

PG/Combo Guard - Newton, Mitchell, Campbell

Wing - Terrell, Francis, Carrington, Wiley, Bibbs, Baldwin

Stretch 4 - Clark, Buford, Robinson, Owens, Hymon, Cofer, Gant, Abu,

Bigs - Moore, Onuaku, Bentil

Newton and Mitchell seem like legit targets. Newton is off to a great spring and is a top 60 player. Mitchell is a great shooter that is a primary target. Campbell will be tough to get out of the DMV area but Coach Jackson visited him last week. He has collected a lot of offers the past week.

Terrell would be unreal to get. It will be tough to beat out UL and Florida for Francis, and Wiley will probably end up at Marlyland. We were on Carrington's list but I see him staying home to play for St. John's. Bibbs could be a solid backup plan if he keeps progressing. But if we don't land a big time player, we will still have KJ, Morman, Sanders, Shaq, and JDIII on the wings.

I could see UC landing any of the stretch fours besides Abu and Gant. The rest are pretty realistic and would all be big time gets.

UC has been recruiting Moore for a very long time, and hopefully that pays off. He would be a player we haven't seen at UC in a long time. Onuaku is the typical rebounding/shot blocker we've seen, but would still be solid. I haven't heard anything about Bentil in a long time but I guess is still an option.

All my opinion but it looks like that's where recruiting stands right now. New names will continue to pop up and some kids will commit to other schools, but Mick has a chance to put together a special class. Hard not to get excited about the possibilities.

I would say on May 2nd, 2013 I pretty much agree with you.

Yeah, still a LONG way to go. This summer will be critical. I wish we could lock up a couple players early but not sure what the chances are. Not many kids like Caupain or KJ where you could realize a legit chance of a summer commitment.
