Man do I want this guy! Perfect fit for the cats. Pickup a long range shooter (Which we really need) like Mitchell. Then add a stretch four like Clarke, Abu, or Cofer. Then try to get your true big man like Moore or Bentil and we would have the best class Mick has brought in. Obviously a long way to go for all these guys but man Cronin and Co. are in there with some great talent.
Yeah the staff is definitely in on some great talent. I agree with Jeff - I think we have a realistic shot at Terrell, but not so much Abu.
PG/Combo Guard - Newton, Mitchell, Campbell
Wing - Terrell, Francis, Carrington, Wiley, Bibbs, Baldwin
Stretch 4 - Clark, Buford, Robinson, Owens, Hymon, Cofer, Gant, Abu,
Bigs - Moore, Onuaku, Bentil
Newton and Mitchell seem like legit targets. Newton is off to a great spring and is a top 60 player. Mitchell is a great shooter that is a primary target. Campbell will be tough to get out of the DMV area but Coach Jackson visited him last week. He has collected a lot of offers the past week.
Terrell would be unreal to get. It will be tough to beat out UL and Florida for Francis, and Wiley will probably end up at Marlyland. We were on Carrington's list but I see him staying home to play for St. John's. Bibbs could be a solid backup plan if he keeps progressing. But if we don't land a big time player, we will still have KJ, Morman, Sanders, Shaq, and JDIII on the wings.
I could see UC landing any of the stretch fours besides Abu and Gant. The rest are pretty realistic and would all be big time gets.
UC has been recruiting Moore for a very long time, and hopefully that pays off. He would be a player we haven't seen at UC in a long time. Onuaku is the typical rebounding/shot blocker we've seen, but would still be solid. I haven't heard anything about Bentil in a long time but I guess is still an option.
All my opinion but it looks like that's where recruiting stands right now. New names will continue to pop up and some kids will commit to other schools, but Mick has a chance to put together a special class. Hard not to get excited about the possibilities.
