oh nice the cincy assistant was there huh?? yeah we blew them out for the 3rd time this season and may see them a 4th in the state tourny that starts monday..... we had a balance attack tonight with QM goin for the aforementioned 18 and two other players having 18 and 17.... he might have had a double double i left before getting the final stats...

tough loss today guys! here is the link for the union county championship game out here in jersey if you guys feel like checking quadri out

http://highschoolsports.nj.com/news...n-vs-no-6-patrick-school-saturday-at-6-pm/#/0

Thanks for the link. I have been watching the game and not too impressed with him. This is the first time I've seen him play so I wont be too critical but he looks pretty slow. I haven't seen him make an offensive move and score the entire game. Might fit in well with our current offensive players though.

He had a nice and 1 right there! And he made his free throw. This game is more entertaining than the UC game today lol

John, what's your take on Moore? Seemed like #13 of Patrick kept him in check. He didn't seem to have much jump in his step.

thanks for asking although i doubt my take means much lol.... #13 played quadri well tonight although quadri dominated him last time... lol #13 is actually the reason you guys ended up with quadri lol..... seton hall was hoping to pair #13 (angel delgado) with quadri but it just wasn't meant to be..... hmmmm so.. my take.... pretty much that im not sure he knows how good he can be at times.... will probably drive you guys crazy here and there.... would love to see him play more back to the basket but thats not secret.... but it's also no secret that it's more a sign of the times than him just being difficult.... told someone at the game last week that a short twenty years ago when i was in high school you would never see someone with his size have the skills he has... its a gift and a curse in some ways because he does things guys his size just can't do.... but in the same breath sometimes he DOESN'T do things guys his size CAN do lol.... you want him to plant his butt on the low block--back his man down and score.... i grew up as most of us did with the well defined 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 positions.. none of these tweeners.. stretch this... stretch that.. hybrid.. type players who want to do it all on the court.....

anyway Q can defer to a fault but when he gets going and gets in his rhythm he is a matchup nightmare...... my biggest thing.. and this is purely my opinion and i have been proven to be 100% wrong ..... i sometimes questioned to myself if he was truly in love with basketball.. if basketball was his passion... i had another conversation with someone the other day about another jersey phenom who had way more pressure on him than Q did-- derrick caracter... .told my buddy that i don't thing derrick ever was truly in love with basketball... he didnt fall in love with basketball--basketball fell in love with him.... he was so big and had skills that everyone told him he was the next big thing without asking him if he even wanted to be the next big thing..... things come easy to a lot of these kids in high school... im curious to see how Q reacts when a little adversity is thrown his way...... how he does when he realizes everyone is just as good as him at UC....

he has cut down on his threes maybe taking one or two a game this season.... like i said he could drive you crazy because i can see this board already when he misses 3 or 4 threes in a game early in his career you are going to be calling for his head lol.. but when he catches fire and nails 4 in a row it will be the complete opposite... he does have a sweet stroke for a kid that size.....

his passing is underrated--i think he is great finding the open man when he is double teamed...... he can be a better rebounder and im sure UC will want to work on his defense.... he had some nice defensive plays tonight.. blocked a few shots---again it came against smaller kids so will be interesting to see how he does against guys his size night in and night out....

okay time to lick my wounds.... i would gladly turn in one of our regular season wins over st pats for the win tonight in the county championship!

we will drop in the rankings for the first time this season when we flip flop with st pats in this weeks poll but we all know which poll matters!

John don't know how familiar you are with UC hoops but to me kid sounds a lot like Yancy Gates.

Good comparison. I have watched a few of the games that John has posted, and you'll notice by watching Quadri that he is incredibly skilled, but he does take some plays off and can disappear from time-to-time. Since we will have good front court depth next year, I wonder Quadri might be redshirted. Yancy could've used a redshirt year if we had more front court depth, or any depth for that matter, at the time he joined the program. We desperately needed Yancy, but I think with DeBerry, Strickland, Clark, Lawrence, etc., Moore could have a year to mature if Mick thinks it is necessary.

I am not anticipating any redshirts with such an inexperienced frontcourt. You will need every option. Clark will play some 3, Quadri will play some 4.

Yeah, I guess it depends on if Mick thinks it would be better for him, though. We didn't have a very experienced backcourt when SK redshirted (granted, we did have Deonta) and it worked out okay, I'd say. I don't think he will redshirt because you need frontcourt depth more than you need backcourt depth (bigs tend to get in more foul trouble), but I think Quadri is the most obvious redshirt candidate if mick decides to redshirt someone. DeBerry won't be redshirted because he is a JUCO, Strickland used his redshirt year this year (right?), Clark looks to be an impact player from day 1 (IMO), and I think Shaq will be much improved also. So when you break it down-DeBerry and Strickland at the 5, Lawrence and Clark at the 4, Shaq, Sanders, and a little Clark at the 3, Morman and KJ at the 2, and Caupain and Guyn at the 1. Plus, don't forget, we still have 2 scholarships left.

Jack I was thinking the same thing with Moore's comparison to Gates when I was watching him yesterday. He was basically a non factor in that game. Like most freshman it will take him some time to adjust to high level play. I hope he works on his motor skills.

If we don't get anymore recruits this year I don't see us redshirting anyone next year.

Yeah, you don't want to get stuck with a small bench with all of the youth and inexperience we will have next year. On the other hand, if we do land someone, you don't want to waste a year of eligibility on someone who isn't going to see much of the court.
