Agree. Don't need carrington. He is just like Kevin Johnson. Uc backed off both for sure. They do not need shooting guards as I have said in the past they need 3,4,and 5 spot. Just look t the roster and what we are losing and what we have. Can't have 4 shooting guards and one 4 man.

The bottom line is there are 5 guards on the UC roster for next season at this point. Unless you can improve on the talent level you don't add anyone, but you always have to be recruiting for any event. I agree, you need to go 3,4,5 unless you can land a good pg, good shooter, or you know you want to part with or someone is leaving.

I do not say this to belitte any recruit who has signed elsewhere. UC was recruiting them for a reason so let's not take take lightly. However, the fact of the matter is the roster has plenty of guards. I have even heard Shaq could move to sg if his three point shot he improved it's lift consistently.

Mick didn't "lose" out on this kid. I'm not going to delve into much more but if Mick truly wanted him, he would have been a Bearcat. Sounds cliche but totally true in this case IMO.

It wasn't a coincidence they backed off Terrell and Carrington once it looked like Morman was going to be eligible. Mick will still monitor some JUCOs or other potential late bloomers in case he doesn't like what he sees from his current players. If Terrell and Carrington were to wait til spring to sign, it may have been a different story.

Carrington, from what I know, is essentially the same player as Kevin Johnson and Morman. Decent handles, can get to the rim, needs improvement on his jump shot. They're all around the same size and build for the most part.

If you followed his recruitment, he said he wanted to visit in August - he just had to confirm it with the head coach. If Carrington was a primary recruit, I think Mick would've certainly got him on campus ASAP. The fact that he never visited is pretty telling.

And the fact that we didn't have a coach visit him the past couple days when the contact period opened up. I think it's clear they're focused on Clark, Grantham, and some bigs.

From what I heard there are also potential academic issues with Carrington. But your points are all valid.

I get that we backed off Terrell and Carrington and now seems like Snider to which is ok if you want to go after 3,4,5 spot guys but why do you give up a 4 star freshman (terrell) for a bunch of 3 star jucos that you keep going to visit.

Always have to have a contingency plan. Who knows what you may need in the spring? Its important to always have options at every position. With Mormon in question they thought they were going to need a guard. Mormon gets eligible and the landscape changed. Both Carrington and Terrell were going to commit early and the staff saw that their were more pressing needs for the roster. Now you see them full speed ahead for Clark and Grantham. They will obviously look for another true big man with that last roster spot unless some miracle happens and UC winds up with Snider. I dont think it will be Moore. Seems his recruitment has really slowed from UC and Miami. Nice class Seton Hall is putting together and I think Moore ends up there as well.
