Not ready to process the end of this season so raising my spirits with what's coming next year.

- top 25 recruiting class (that is probably underrated at that)
- Shaq's rise to a big time contributor
- More growth from Jackson & Rubles
- Hopefully SK back
- New conference that will be disrespected but should lead to the Cats playing with a chip on their shoulder

I think between SK, Shaq, Lawrence, JDIII, and rubles they will be able at attack the rim a lot more... I'm not sure how they are going to replace Parker and Cash's outside shooting... perhaps one of the other freshman can actually shoot.

Hopefully more attacking the rim and a post presence in Strickland will lead to less reliance on shooting 3's. Caupain and Johnson should be able to chip in from beyond the arc, Sanders too. I'm excited that Caupain is known for getting to the rim as well, getting fouled, and hitting his free throws. Throw in Morman who can probably defend from day one and the future is bright.

i don't think so. i belive theres a x amount of years it has to be together. i could be wrong though.

I'm sure the new conference has a bid. They will hold a conference tourney and the winner will get an automatic bid. The NCAA recognizes the changing landscape with all the institutions moving, and will grant this new conference an automatic bid. The BCS automatic bid is also preserved for next year.

As far as next year is concerned, I think we will be significantly improved. Today was Shaq's coming out party, and Reggie Miller said he was the best player at the practice he saw yesterday. This of course includes SK and the departing seniors. He needs to be in the weight room all summer and we could see a player who will complement SK. Jermaine Lawrence is a program changer and will get significant playing time. Rubles will better and only needs to work on his shot, otherwise he does all the other things well. And JJ and Strickland will man the 5. The only question is the 1, and I think GG or one of he freshman will step up. There will be enough firepower, and enough guys who can break people down in the half court at the offensive end, that the point guard only has to facilitate the offense, and not be asked to score. I have no concerns about the defense, and can see a pressing style with all the athletes we have. I am truly sad to see Cash, Jaquan, and CM move on, as they meant so much to he program. But they have left in in MUCH better shape than when they arrived. Thank you guys from ALL ofBearcat Nation!

I am excited to see what another off season will do for both Rubles and Thomas...think they will both be key players next year. Hopefully Caupain can contribute something as a freshman, love his ability to score. Also excited to see Strickland down low, praying he has some post moves.

It is going to be a very athletic teams with Guyn, Thomas, Lawrence, and Jackson playing a lot more minutes. I think JDIII will be a steady player, and as I said need at least one freshman to provide us something. If one of Gaines and Nyarsuk have to go, then so be it. I actually liked the line up with Jackson at the 5 with Rubles and Thomas also in at the same time, would like to see that much more next year. They have a chance to be like the '10-'11 Bearcats that were very deep and could press all game.

Agree. The future is bright. I hope SK comes back, as he can finally have a year where he is 1st team all conference. Of course this should be easier with all the conference defections. I am excited to see the improvement in the returning guys, and the influx of talent in the incoming class. Can't wait to see Jermaine Lawrence in a bearcat uni!

Looking at next year, we are gonna be CRAZY athletic. Can you imagine rotating Shaq, Rubles, Jack and Lawrence at the 3 and 4? JD3 and SK at the 2 is gonna be great. If we can have a few frosh step up it looks like a very promising team! Also very excited for Strickland to unseed Big Dave and Kelvin in the 5 spot.

We'll see if the the next season holds promise if and when the team gets together and the illustrious Mick can find 5 players that gel. Cash will be the hardest player to replace. I think GeLawn, given half a chance (and for sure more than 3 minutes) has all the skills to play point. He hasn't got enough minutes to demonstrate whether or not he can handle the ball. So, basically, he'll be like all the other incoming freshmen and JD III - a bunch of unknown quantities. What I don't see is SK getting any better unless he gets a good tutor on how to take the ball to the hoop. We could probably live without Nyarsuk and Sanders very easily.

Agree with everything you said. Hopefully, some prior arrangements have been made so we can have everybody next year. If not, either Morman won't qualify or Gaines/Nyarsuk leaves. Personally, Id rather see Gaines leave, but since he has 2 more years to David's 1, it might make more sense to keep Kelvin. Shaq, Lawrence, Caupain, JD3, SK, and Strickland-all guys who could make big impacts nex year. I think Guyn has a chance to be decent. If we get Morman, redshirt either him or KJ, not both. I think it might be in Mormans best interest to redshirt, so he can work on his grades more as a frosh. KJ will need a year, from my observations, to adjust to the move from SG to PG. Shaq needs to bulk up, work on his shot, and play better d. JD3 will give us a solid 3 point guy who has started to show ability to drive down the lane. SK is SK. Strickland could be the major key establishing the inside game we missed. Lawrence is our athletic freak who can do just about anything.

Getting a look at Shaq today really boosted my spirits for next season. He has to work on ft shooting, but like his outside shot, he simply shoots too flat. Point guard and inside play are the key for next season. As always I look forward to next season.

The forgotten guy that most forget we still will have is JJ. I think a healthy JJ is instrumental to our success. We really missed him this year while he has been hurt. I think he started to turn the corner before he got hurt. He started to look like the JJ we all enjoy watching against Marquette this year. While I affectionately dubbed him the human turnover, his energy would've really helped in all those times we looked lethargic this year.

I think he will be a solid player, but a lot of what he did today had to do with the fact that no one on Creighton was athletic enough to check him...every team in the BE had someone who could.

we will no doubt be a better team next year.

pg- guyn/jd3(if he can run the point, he should start)/kj
sg- sk(he will stay cause he has nowhere to go but Europe)/jd3
sf- shaq/caupain/sanders
pf- rubles/Lawrence/jackon
c- gaines/jackson/Strickland/nyarsuk/rubles

the pf and c positions are loaded with bodies. Cronin will have a bunch of options at those two spots. he could go small with Lawrence at the 4 and then rubles/Jackson at the center. I think we will actually have more depth next year(coaches say this every year). also, the pg position is intriguing because jd3 can score a lot better than guyn, but idk if he can run the point or not.
