DeBerry is not bad. Per 40 minutes last year he was 3rd on the team. About 10 for each Ellis and Clark and about 8 for DeBerry. Moore was around 5 which was also less than Shaq per 40 minutes at 5.5.

I think coach mentioned they would play Deberry and Ellis together some. So let's say Clark gets 27.5 minutes. DeBerry gets 5. Maybe we run small for 2.5 minutes per game. That would leave 5 minutes at the 4 spot. Someone is going to get buried.

I think the next few games will determine who that is

DeBerry, Moore, and Scott all need as many minutes as possible early in the season imo. If we're up by a lot, I'd be surprised to ever see Ellis at the 4. This is our chance to do big things, if we have to use a year of eligibility for Scott where he doesn't play a ton of minutes, so be it. But I just think we need to have every option available to us.

He like everybody else has to have purpose. Defensive stopper, 3pt
specialist, passer, rebounder, I need one of these skills from end of bench guys. I personally wouldn't waste year of eligibility for year of good hustling.

I believe he will be a threat from outside. He is shooting quite a bit, and Mick doesn't seem to be going crazy when he launches them. I can only assume that he must be making enough of them in practice for Mick to be OK with him shooting.

Mick has always given his players the green light to shoot and has always said that he does not bench them for taking shots. So that has nothing to do with how he shoots in practice.

Jenifer has never been known to be a great outside shooter and his shot looked pretty ugly last game. I'm not sure what his final stats were but most of his outside shots weren't even close. Hopefully he works on that a bunch next offseason.

Can we lead the conference in team FG%, 3FG%, and FT%?

If the Cats could be average to good in offensive efficiency (last season was 104th per Kenpom) with something resembling our usual defense, then this team could be really fun to watch. I think we need one or two players to emerge as "go to" players to make a deep tourney run.

Who do you think will be first off the bench most games this season? I know we could make an argument for KJ, DeBerry, Evans or Jenifer.

It will vary based on game situations but I see KJ as the first off the bench as someone who can come in and hit a couple shots real quick and fire the team up. If Ellis or Clark gets in foul trouble then obviously it will be Deberry but majority of the time it will be KJ,

I think a good argument can be made for the first 3. Without foul trouble I just don't see Troy coming off the court early in a game.

I'm not sure if we'll really have a 6th man. Probably will depend on game flow.

I saw Mick being interviewed on the 11 O'Clock news last night and he said we would see a lot of Ellis and Deberry playing together this year.
