my prediction: 25 regular season, 2 AAC tourn, 2 NCAA so 29 wins. I guess that means 30+ is possible.

This is pretty darn close in my opinion. I think anything less than 24-7 in the regular season is extremely disappointing. I think how far they go in the NCAA Tourney will determine whether they finish at 28 or 29 wins or 30-32 wins.

No one will redshirt. Initially I thought Scott would be a candidate but we need both him and Moore to back up Clark. Neither are consistently good enough to separate themselves.

If that is the case I could potentially see a red shirt happening at the 4 since Clark will get the lion's share there. The question would be...would we even want to red shirt.

Sounds like we might be red shirting Scott. Looks like my instincts were right on this one. Why carry 5 bigs when we can slide Thomas or Evans over in emergency? Makes no sense to have Scott (or Moore for that matter) ride pine all year.

I think the play of Moore over the last two weeks made Mick feel more confident.

I don't even want to call out all the people who said that since we only have 11 players we really don't have the option of red shirting anyone. But I guess I just did:)

We are still 3 deep at EVERY position if Scott redshirts...

Ellis/DeBerry/Moore
Clark/Moore/Ellis/Deberry
Thomas/Evans/any guard/wing
Cobb/Johnson/any guard/wing
Caupain/Jenifer/Cobb

FYI not sure if its been posted yet but Cronin in press conference says that right now it looks like Tre Scott will red shirt

Personally I think we might see DeBerry and Ellis at times which means effectively DeBerry/Ellis is the primary back up to Clark. In other cases we may want to run small with Shaq giving you another option as a back up. Clark is already going to take almost 3/4ths of the minutes.

Do we really need both Moore and Scott to give minutes? Will either be more effective than ST or CD?

no

I really hope the play of Moore wasn't the decision because I don't think Moore is the answer. He's looked pretty good and pretty bad at the same time

Yeah I figured Scott would get extremely limited minutes, but thought we wouldn't trust Moore enough. With the play of DeBerry at the 5 though, I think that's what makes the difference.

DeBerry is not bad. Per 40 minutes last year he was 3rd on the team. About 10 for each Ellis and Clark and about 8 for DeBerry. Moore was around 5 which was also less than Shaq per 40 minutes at 5.5.

I think coach mentioned they would play Deberry and Ellis together some. So let's say Clark gets 27.5 minutes. DeBerry gets 5. Maybe we run small for 2.5 minutes per game. That would leave 5 minutes at the 4 spot. Someone is going to get buried.

I think the next few games will determine who that is

Scott...it didn't even take one game. Coach had already decided

Was very much in doubt as recently as late last week. Moore improving makes it a much easier decision. It allows Scott two years to own the position after Gary graduates instead of one, but he most certainly could have helped this year.

Cronin has long said you only willingly redshirt guys that have a chance to be really good. Tre fits that description...

I hope Scott redshirts....like Cronin said, it would of been great to have Jackson on last years team.

MY NEW STARTING LINEUP CONSISTS OF TWO PLATOONS.......I THINK PLATOON #1 IS GOOD ENOUGH TO BE THE BEST STARTING 5 IN THE COUNTRY, #2 SHOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH TO BE RANKED TOP 25 BY SEASON'S END.

PLATOON #1
PG - JENIFER
SG - TROY
SF - EVANS
PF - CLARK
C - DEBERRY

PLATOON #2

PG - COBB
SG - KJ
SF - SHAQ
PF - SCOTT
C - ELLIS

11TH MAN -- QUADRI MOORE

I'VE WATCHED A LOT OF BAKSETBALL IN MY LIFE AND I'VE SEEN THIS TEAM PLAY SO FAR THIS YEAR IN A SCRIMMAGE AND 2 EXHIBIOTION GAMES. I'M PREDICTING THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE THE BEST BACKCOURT IN THE NATION AND WE'LL BE A #1 SEED IN THE NCAA TOURNEY.

FINAL 4 BABY!!!!!!!

Wow, this guy really called it first. Brilliant!!!

This team better than Logan JR year team but not on level of martin SR year team. Ellis stop goaltending and play real defense I'll take this team over final four team
