2017-2018 OOC

I can't FATHOM why any of our fans would want a weak OOC schedule. Personally, I'm not really going to care if we lose 8-9 games as long as we get a good seed and make a deep run in the tournament.

Do you really think UConn fans gave a damn about losing 9 regular season games in 2011 after winning the Big East and NCAA tournament championships?

To put it in UC terms, which season did you enjoy more -- 2011-12 when we lost 11 games against top competition but went to the Big East final and made the Sweet 16? Or 2013-14, when we racked up 27 wins against weaker competition and got embarrassed in the first round of the tourney against freaking 12th-seeded Harvard? I know which season I would rather have.

All those seasons of Huggins-led teams racking up 25-30 wins didn't mean jack when we got bounced out of the first weekend of the tournament almost every year.

If Blueitt returns they are easily top 20 or better.

They have a top 10 class in the country coming in.

They keep: Blueitt (assuming he stays), Goodin, Macura (gross), Omara , t. Jones, K. Gates

2017 class they bring in : Paul Scruggs (top 30 Recruit 4 star), Naji Marshall (top 60/50 recruit 4 star), Elias Harden (top 150 4 star), Jarred Ridder (top 200 3 star typical X white kid), And Kentrevious Jones ( 3 star project)

Transferring in: Kareem Kanter (Grad Transfer, Brother of OKC Enes Kanter, really good on offense, terrible on defense)

If Blueitt leaves though, they will be super young but really talented. Winning at Cintas will be hard but I expect this group of UC players to get it done no matter who is on X.
I definitely expect a win. This year was a MUST win (at home with a very good team). Next yr is not a must win, but we really need to win with that stacked team.

This year was perfect we just didn't show up in the big game
I'd rather win 30 against whoever then lose 10.....
I usually agree with a lot of what you say, but you are way off. Didn't you enjoy the Big East days, BB?

Funny cuz Wichita state is better than us even with the weaker schedule

I don't want 14 buy games I want winnable games not paid for

It doesn't matter your record or seed you have to win all games

Tougher games just make your record worse, we will not win all of Xavier, Florida miss.st, ucla.
Sorry I cant resist. I am not sure if you believed what you were saying, or just kept digging yourself deeper?? BB how do you think Syracuse went to the FF last yr??? BC they were prepared by their regular season (and talent and luck of course).

George Washington went 30-1 one year and played no one. They got an 8 seed. This is what you want? How is that fun? How does that help? What does that do for us?
You would rather play a 3rd grader and win every game, than play someone you can lose to? This is what you are saying?

LOL!!! Kramer on Seinfeld (karate episode). Hahahahaaha

IMO yes and if you look back to last year I was pretty much right on all the losses before the season started

I will give that you were practical (not emotional) and was conservative. Most of us also knew which teams we may lose to though. We just held out hope, where you predicted losses.

No duh but I will bet you any amount of money you want that we have more losses this year than last year regular season
The numbers 4

I'm back. if we are playing better teams, yeah we will probably lose more. That's ok. Muhammad Ali lost fights. He could have not fought anyone and been 100-0. Would he have been better in your eyes? Is this a generational thing? Everyone gets a trophy thing?

It looks like it's a million vs one right now. Doesn't even feel like a debate; just preventing troll jobs.

Around a week ago, I posted the RPI Wizard of what next year's schedule looks like. It was at 52. I believe a neutral Florida game easily put us into the 40s, if that game were to end up happening.

EDIT: It's at approx. 38.

If that game was to happen, I wonder if mick would been good with that or try to get another game. It would be good as is but could see trying to get another game

If we get one more big game I'd be happy. I really just hope the bad teams we play aren't like FDU and more like Marshall.

I told you yesterday I thought this year was good we had a lot of good games that we could win next year Mississippi State, Iowa those the type games that we can win that are a little tough.

I like increasing schedule strength as our team gets better and better and reduce it a little when we might be in for a down year.

I think we will have a team this year that can handle a little tougher schedule so I think we are doing the right thing.

Many years we didn't have a great team and we scheduled accordingly and we made the tourney and many times were right on the bubble.

The scheduling has been about perfect for most years IMO and I think adding some strength this year is a good idea.

Last year was a down year for a couple AAC teams and that hurt our seeding. We may lose more games than last year but we could end up better in metrics because of the SOS. Committee is placing more emphasis on metrics this year. Top 50 wins will probably always be important.
