Thing about Brooks is he was already in great shape conditioning wise getting on campus last year, but was also the last one to show up due to finishing a class. Because he had to finish that class he missed all summer workouts. Thats when we see all the transformation pictures. I dont think Brooks ever got to do that, even after arriving on campus. So I could see him adding a few LBS of muscle this off season

He definitely needs to add muscle. He was pretty weak around the hoop...which is normal for a 6'11" FR. But that's definitely something that needs to change if he's going to play more.

I think he will take a step forward. It will be interesting to see how the bigs play with Broone.

I heard Cronin say Broome is always looking to throw alley oops. If that's the case it will be huge for Brooks (plus the other bigs) and Evans. Brooks has great size and this could make up for some of his lack of offensive skills. Evans has a crazy vertical and is very athletic, hes not the best penetrator with the ball but if Broome can find him cutting to the rim it will be hard to stop him from scoring. This is going to be a new element to our offense because Troy never really took chances like that. It will result in some turnovers yeah but it gives us another way to score instead of dribbling until the end of the shot clock and taking a bad shot (which is basically the same thing as a turnover). Needless to say I'm very excited about this possibility to go along with Broome being a good penetrator which was our biggest weakness this past season in my opinion.

I am interested to see what Brooks and Scott look like coming into next year. I wouldn't mind seeing both add a little weight. I wouldn't mind seeing both polish their inside offensive game a little. I'm not sure Scott will have a good path on the perimeter for playing time...I think his best opportunity might be developing some low post moves or face up moves and beefing up.

They are both pretty athletic so a little extra weight and muscle should help them. I would guess Nsosome needs to do the same. When Clark, Washington, and Moore leave there will be a huge opportunity opening up but there is still a pretty good opportunity next year for back up minutes for someone. Washington gets in foul trouble and gets gassed a lot and his defense is suspect. I could see someone getting around 15 minutes per game depending on who works the hardest in the off season. Brooks probably has the best opportunity being the primary back up center.

I agree. Our guards are going to be top notch, we need our bigs to get there. We know Gary is a monster, and KW is good on offense. We need the bench to get stronger. Scott gets compared to Justin Jackson a lot. I can see it, but I do think Scott is ahead of Jackson at this point in their careers. Was mad to see Scott fall off though a little bit towards the end of the year. Just need to develop more offensive skill.

I think both Scott and Brooks will take a step forward. I even think Moore will have his moments. As much as I like Scott, I can't get over him missing the dunk against UCF. That miss may have cost us a share of the league title.

I don't know how much tre will improve offensively. You rarely see a player will no offensive skill develop offense. I don't think he'll ever be a shooter or offensive player. I think he could be a great defender and role player eventually. Which I would take

I do think brooks could develop a lot. He has good hands and decent touch in my opinion

I could easily see Brooks becoming a little like DeBerry as being the primary back up big. I don't think he will be as efficient on the offensive side but he will likely be a better defender overall...especially if he puts on muscle weight.

I could also see Washington putting his heart and soul into getting better on defense. He is good enough on offense to be a good pro but may see that having to come off the court for defensive stops, breathers, and foul trouble is going to hurt his stock just from a minutes played perspective. If he could somehow find a way to stay on the court for 30+ minutes...his stock is going to rise.

At one point late middle to late in the season I was looking at Kyle's scoring compared to minutes played in our conference. He was second only to Gray (at that point) in scoring per minutes played. If he could be a 35 minute guy instead of a 25 minute guy he can score 17-18 per game or more. He just needs to stay on the court. He can't do that by getting early fouls, getting gassed, or not being a solid defender. He seems like a highly motivated individual so I would not count him out in terms of trying hard to improve on the defensive side. If he wants to play in the league...he's going to have to improve there. I think Kyle wants to play in the league so we will see.

I am a lot higher on brooks. I think he is going to be a lot better than deberry. I don't think he's that far from him right now. Washington I think is what he is. Don't see him changing much. He's like 24 years old I think. At that point it's hard to change what you've been doing forever

In terms of Brooks I was speaking mainly of next year. I think his long term potential is very high. I was very impressed with him this year...especially as the season wore on. He's not as clumsy as I thought he was going to be...he's pretty coordinated and can move around very well for his size. I also agree his touch was pretty good and his hands are not bad. That's a pretty good recipe for a 6'11" guy.

As far as Washington you could be right...I just think there is a LOT of motivation in that kid. I am not counting out a very focused and hard working off season for him. His main goal should be defense and defensive positioning so he can stay on the court...maybe some conditioning.

Kyle has improved every year in terms of shooting % at NC ST to now and he had a HUGE jump last year compared to his other years. His FG% went from .467 to .510 from Soph to Junior year. His lifetime 3% is 39% although he's not a volume guy from 3 obviously. His 2 point % went from .462 to .530 from soph to junior year. He's a 70% FT shooter. If he makes even a marginal improvement over last year...he is going to be extremely tough to handle. He just needs to work on D and conditioning.

I'm not sure I buy "he is what he is" at this point.

I like him, and think he's a good player. So is what he is, is a very good offensive player. I've just never seen a 24 year old make a huge jump though. I could see a minor improvement but to expect a big jump is unrealistic in my opinion

I don't expect a huge jump either. I'm just saying he is a motivated player (so was SK) and he did just make a huge jump last year. Asking for another huge jump would be unrealistic IMO too.

Per 40 minutes in points Kyle went from 9.6 to 15.3 to 20.9 in three years. I don't expect that trend to continue...but I also don't see that as "he is what he is" kind of thing either. Those are dramatic improvements. We didn't see anything like that from some of our other players. Guys like KJ and Troy held steady over their careers. Even Clark is a steady eddy kind of guy.

Kyle seems to be improving at a very good rate. I would find it hard to believe we will see another dramatic improvement over last year because that type of improvement is tough to sustain over 4 years. If he does...watch out

Tre Scott isn't getting post touches.

He scores, I've never said he didn't. He scores and was put on a team that desperately needed scoring. I would hope he had an improvement in his scoring stats
