#4 Notre Dame Round 2

I disagree with you. Whenever you lose by 40 points to a team on a national stage such as the BE tourney, it has to be a little embarrassing. Unless you are one who accepts those types of results. IMO. I do think we will rebound well though. We usually do.

Ralph does and always will accept everything Cronin does. If Cronin murders someone, Ralph will be right there to justify it. It's his MO, and it sucks he is back.

Especially seeing that louisville beat them it really doesn't make any sense to lose like that.. It seemed like we were a step slow getting out on their shooters and their style of play pulls Yancey away from the basket. Bad matchup in styles for sure but 40 points! There is really no excuse. That being said we NEED a healthy Cash come touney time so rest him up and let them remember how bad it feels to get yout teeth kicked in!! I think no one is expecting anything from them so maybe it plays into their hands to get some nice matchups in the tourney!! We'll see but I NEVER want to see a letdown like that again!!!

ND played 3 Great halves...2 against us and the first half against Louisville. They scored 40 or better in all three. They were on a roll.

I truly don't believe anybody would have beat ND on Thursday night. I'll also say the Cats laid down at some point but ND was on a completely different level. Best offense I have seen all year during that game.

This is why a team like ND is always going to struggle to win the NCAA Tourney or even Big East Tourney for that matter. They are not going to shoot lights out every game or even every half. If they had an inside presence that they could go to when shots aren't falling, they would be able to withstand poor shooting stretches. They don't have that. When their shots are falling, they are unbeatable. When they are not, they are very average.

Same thing happened when they played UK. First half they hit shots, the second they didn't. Their outside shooting opens the back cuts and passing lanes.

The first half last night was a carbon copy of the UC game first half. UL scrapped and played tough, but ND made shots. The second half is what I hoped UC would be able to do, plus I think that UL is a better matchup zone team because they play it way more often and are well schooled in it. UC struggled to get to shooters even in the Providence and G'town games...luckily they just missed open 3's, ND will not do that so they got exposed.

UC is a couple consistent shooters away from being an elite team imo. Sanders will help in that area and JD as well. Shaq has the ability to be the slasher the Bearcats need. Most importantly SK will only get better and will be more consistent next season.

Many may disagree but I also think Gaines will contribute next season. Not saying he'll be a 20 min a game guy but he is working extremely hard and getting some special attention.

He is very athletic and goes after the ball. He will play in some big men camps in the offseason which will also help his development.

Going on record now saying if this team can land a solid juco big that they will be better next season. Not saying record wise, but as an overall team.

I also think that they will be better next year. The backcourt will be solid, and the addition of a servicable JUCO big will stabalize the frontcourt. It will be interesting to see if the upcoming coaching carousel will free up a big man, and the Cats may end up adding someone who is not currently on our radar.

Sorry folks. The ND game was embarrassing. Losing by 38...impossible to spin that any other way. ND owned us offensively. The offense ran circles around the D. We allowed open 3's AND cuts to the basket.

However, that game is over. Time to move on. UC (and Cash) do not play well against teams with solid guard play. Matchups are important.

My view exactly. I'm very excited for today.

Amen. Hope for a good matchup and have some fun!! It's been a long time since relevance!
