Joe Lunardi @ESPNLunardi Two likely "elimination games" already set: ACC (Pitt-Cuse, Wed., 12n) and American (Cincy-UConn, Fri., 2p). es.pn/1U5L53L

So lunardi still had them in after losing to Houston, but now must beat UCONN after beating SMU?

If we beat smu and lose to uconn we are in and if we lose to smu and beat uconn we are in. We can lose one more as long as we win one more....

100% WRONG, Both ESPN, and CBS Sports are saying the winner of the UCONN UC game will get an NCAA invite, the loser is NIT bound. ALL the SMU game did was keep uc alive, it DIDN'T secure anything, except a chance to still get in with a win against UCONN. UC's NCAA TOUR starts this week against UCONN, period!

I unfortunately agree. Which is complete bullsh*t if you ask me. We have swept UConn and just beat SMU who kicked UConn's butt a few days ago. Why does UConn still have better chances than us? It's pretty sad when you go 22-9 and still hanging on a thread to get in. Very frustrating.

Lunardi and Palm are complete hack jobs. In the last 10 years they have not even been in the top 25 of the nerds who study March Madness. Every metric besides the outdated and inefficient RPI has Cincy in great shape. This is how dumb the RPI can be. If UC beats UConn on Friday Uconn will most certainly drop out of the top 50. That means by beating Uconn the Bearcats will have effectively eliminated 3 top 50 RPI wins from their resume. If they lose they keep 2 higher RPI wins since UConn will move up. Such a dumb metric. In my opinion the bearcats punched their card. Im comfortable getting out the dancing shoes. That said lets go beat Uconn a third time and get some revenge on Temple.

I want to play Temple so bad.

I felt we were in control most of the first half the first time we played uconn and then fought our way back in the seond half. The game at home we were in control for 40 min. Theres no doubt in my mind we are the better team and will win Friday.

UConn doesn't have a better chance than us. If they lose to us on Friday they are basically done. We still would have a chance with a loss to them.

We are in sit back and relax

Also just some food for thought.... Last year the Bearcats were 22-10 and got an 8 seed. They're 22-9 right now with better computer numbers than last year. I would be absolutely shocked if they dont get in.

I noticed that fact on Twitter today. Why does it seem the talking heads are basically counting us out this year unless we beat UConn?

Had a top 30 OOC SOS last year, we are around 140 this year.

The interesting thing I heard Chad mention last night on one of the late night sports shows is this, if we beat UConn, they are not in the top 50RPI, if we lose to UConn, that gives us 2 more top 50 wins, which the committee looks at.

Obviously you want to win, but it is interesting.

Lol. That info on our RPI is hilarious.

Now that I think about it. The idea of having a cut off like top 25 or top 50 or top 100 is idiotic. As if there is a difference between 24 and 26 or 49 and 51 etc. They should just rank each win and loss equal to where there metrics say they are and don't worry about arbitrary cutoff points.

Some sanity at last. I heard the exact same things regarding the top 50 wins. if we beat UCONN it probably knock them out of the top 50 and we lose the wins. Go figure.

Haha very arbitrary. Especially when the # of D1 teams changes every year.

I think anyone who is being honest with themselves would say we are a tournament team. I know we play ugly...but as far as bubble teams typically go, we are much more competent than most.

we shot 5% from 3 yesterday (1-19) yet we won. So idk if we should keep the foam 3 point fingers at home or bring them. Yes this is what my superstitious mind thinks about

We should shoot and miss more 3's...so we win by more:)
