Mick def isn't making on friends on ESPN and/or the selection committee. Throw on his post game comments from yesterday too. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to leave UC out of the tourney just to spite him.

Not on the Katz show, but at one point yesterday Cronin was asked about college basketball and how there aren't great teams this year. He argued and said there are a ton of great teams and the era of a few dominant teams is over.(for the most part) If the analyst's took the time to actually watch college basketball and not just the bluebloods, they would see there are a lot of good teams. But that would take some effort on their part.

The fact that Cronin thinks because our record is the same as Duke's we should be lock is alarming. Duke's wins over UNC, Virginia, Louisville and Indiana get them in alone. They also beat VCU and Yale. C'mon Mick, don't embarrass yourself!

"What do you think you need to do to get in the NCAA Tournament?"

"Well, that's up to the committee. I don't know. I know we have the same record as Duke, and we play in a league with 5 teams that are tournament teams. Memphis is really good, and Houston may go to the tournament, they're probably favored to win the conference tournament the way they're playing right now. How we could be in a league with that many good teams, be 22-9 and not be in, would be mind-boggling to me."

Then he continues talking about our schedule this year, and how little respect our league gets.

If you think all that means is "WE'RE AS GOOD AS DUKE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE SAME RECORD" then I don't know what to tell ya.
 
On the Greenberg and Katz podcast they broke down conference tournaments. Greenberg picked us to win it. Katz took UConn.

I never said Cronin said we are as good as Duke. But, interpret it as you will to make yourself feel better.

You can look at this both ways. Why mention Duke? They have a much more difficult SOS and higher metrics. Would any team from a weak mid major conference and 200 SOS mention how they have the same record as us and Duke?

I would also mention the abbreviated version that people were responding to earlier is somewhat out of context and doesn't include the whole quote.

On slow news days things tend to get exaggerated.

Maybe not but I definitely feel that there were those on this forum that extrapolated and took that path.
