Interesting AAC Stats....

The AAC is 28/32 in close games (only 12 of 79 games decided by 4 points or less/OT)

The AAC is 3/32 in blowouts (16/79 games decided by 19 or more points)

The AAC is still dead last (32/32) in Tempo, eFG% and 2PT%. Really bad offensive conference.

The AAC is 1st in block % (thanks Tacko, Brimah and Clark/Washington).

But conference doesn't matter

If you think playing in the American vs. temple, UCF, SMU and Houston instead of in the ACC vs. duke UNC, Virginia , Louisville doesn't play a part in a kids thinking you got another thing coming

Plenty of people have argues that conference affiliation doesn't matter. Especially when it comes to recruiting.

Like who? I've literally never seen anyone say that it doesn't matter. Only conversation about the degree it matters. You're talking to no one.

Would like to second this. Conferences matter. Just some think it is the end all for college sports, and others point out not being in a P6 for basketball is fine.

Your use of the word fine is telling. I don't think that you'll find many posting here that will describe their vision of UC basketball as FINE. Nor does it look down stream as to where college athletics is headed. Louisville and Pittsburgh's administrations didn't settle for fine. That's why they are in the ACC.

This conference in bball is comparable to The SEC. This year our conference sucks. Teams are down but last year and most year we will get 4 teams in the tourney, not unlike the SEC. We all would love to go to a bigger conference but until you or someone finds one that wants us, we aren't going anywhere. I still think we can compete for a final four in this conference, it's just harder

I didn't say the UC basketball program was "FINE". I was implying being out of a P6 isn't the end of the world for basketball. Note I didn't say the same for football.

On a side note, I am still waiting for you to respond to the below.

LSU, Boston College, Colorado, Rutgers, TCU, and Depaul

I gave you 6 teams. Please explain to me how any of those P5 + BE are a better job than Cincinnati.

If you are going to make claims, back it up.

If you aren't going to defend your position, stop with the constant inferiority complex.

Look at their check book. This is about money and long term viability. We and other schools are being pushed out of the mainstream which in the long run will hurt are ability to compete. If you can't see that I really don't have much more to say to you.

Oh I think you know what you can do with your side note.

The NCAA is supposed to be about creating a even playing field. The Networks are not going to let that happen. We are on a very slippery slope. We got left behind in the first wave. We invested millions after the horse left the barn. In the short term we look to be doing FINE but as time goes on the gap will only get wider.

Why not wait until that happens before you worry so much?

Those are really my last two post on this subject. I'm not here to tell anyone what there expectation should be. If people are happy with the state of College athletics and the role UC has then so be it.

Jake our administration did that. How did it turn out? UCONN is getting ready to bail on our Basketball conference. Do you really think it is that far off? You've had Chad on here telling you he has heard directly from recruits, who will not give a thought to playing in the AAC.

We're fans. We're completely powerless. I want to win our home games and win our conference. We have a real shot to go 26-1 this year in such games. Next year doesn't look like a drop off. Then the arena will be done. That's as far as I can see ahead for UC basketball.

Exactly. This P4, P5, P6 stuff is just a bunch of what ifs. If P4 happens we have a chance to get in. None of the Big East schools do...so what does that mean for them? Right now we are in the best non P conference for both basketball and football. If we get left out of P4 dream...we can react from there. If P4 doesn't fully materialize there will be P5 or P6 conferences or we will still have a chance to be the big fish in the non P pond in either sport. I would rather be that than be in the P conference and be one of the worst teams there.

We can still recruit with the best of the non P schools until then in both sports. We have certain limitations but we can only do the best we can do. How good we can do is debatable. Right now the impact is both a reality and an excuse depending on what you want to focus on.

As of now we can recruit with lower P schools and the best of the Non P schools. We can't do much better than that. Stop worrying.

Where do you guys want to go? No conference want us. We just went through this 6 months ago and no one wanted us. We all get that it hurts us. No one would argue it helps. A couple of us are just saying our bball team will still be able to compete. Not our football team, just our bball team. Is that a crazy argument?

Mick Cronin is the 18th highest paid coach and we are building a new arena. I don't see a program in financial straights. We also play on national television more than probably 75% of the schools in P6, so I question being pushed out of the mainstream. Honestly, I don't see how your argument has any thought in it past "UC doesn't get as much money as P6 schools, so we must be inferior".

In regards to the side note, if you choose to dodge replying, it just shows how week your stance was. You may be the old man on the board, but I am still going to call you out on ignorant opinions. Prove me wrong, and actually back up what you are saying.
