Ohio state up 40-22 over Villanova at the half

Oh what could have been. We moved up in Kenpom a couple spots just based on the OSU and Drake wins. Had we been able to make a couple more shots at OSU or got a few more calls our way...we could have won that game. OSU blasting Nova should be a good sign for us obviously. It's early so we can't take too much from early season results...but at least we had a very good chance to win that game and Nova did not. With 30% of the offense installed and a new coach and system those results should/could have been flip flopped in favor of Nova not UC.

That first game is a little more pleasing right now all things considered.

Vermont won at St Johns today, and they also have wins at St Bonaventure and at Bucknell. That's going to be a tough game, hopefully Quad 2.

I watch a lot of St. John's and they are not projected to be the same team that made the NCAA tournament last year (although LJ Figueroa is my favorite player in the Big East... beast!). With that being said, Vermont is a real threat and if we don't find a way to keep Lamb in check, we're in for a long night.

Vermont is a very fundamentally sound team, and Lamb is an absolute beast. Gonna be a tough win for sure

I seen Hofstra shot 50% from 3. I wonder if he is still playing that stupid zone. That thing should have been retired 3 years ago.

ucla better figure out that 3 point d in general. 284 in the country.

After looking at some numbers the 175th ranked team in 3 point % last year was at 34.2% as a team. This year its down to 31.8%. I wonder if thats the drop in % the ncaa was looking for.

Are they looking for a drop? I assume they're trying to increase spacing and discourage pack line defense.

i think all of it right?

The NCAA says the rationale behind the decision is to:

make the lane more available for dribble/drive plays from the perimeter

slow the trend of the 3-point shot becoming too prevalent in men's college basketball by making the shot more challenging, while at the same time keeping the shot an integral part of the game

assisting in offensive spacing by requiring the defense to cover more of the court

UCLA lost at home by ten to Hofstra #139 in Kenpom

Last time they lost a home game to a team ranked 139 or worse in Kenpom was 2013 when Ben howland was the coach...

not necessarily a huge deal if we get Eason but 6'9 Center Nigel John who JB has been actively recruiting and has visited UC has just committed to Utah State.

At this point it seems like either Eason has already secretly committed here and is just waiting until december (21st I think) to officially committed. Or Brannen has just been very bad at recruiting big men. Hopefully it's the former.
