That sucks for us that UConn lost. First game but still... Tulsa is losing to Jacksonville St by 10 with 10 to play. Tempe eeked out a OT win over LaSalle. Albany hangs 85 on Penn St. Monday should be a good test for us.

I think its starting to looking pretty clear that Mick Cronin is a better coach that Kevin Ollie.

Ollie won a championship and thats great and all but overall he is a great recruiter but maybe a worse offensive coach than Cronin

Agreed. Former NBA player with pull with recruits, but the man can simply not coach.

with UCONN using, UC could move into the top 25 polls and thus making the game against Rhode Island a potential Top 25 match up on both sides and yet it will be on ESPN 3.

Shame

Maybe they will change that, guess it depends who else is playing that not. But yeah top 25 match up not on national TV, yeah no way does it hurt not being in a power 5.

Welcome to the top 25 Bearcats. Xavier wins by3 and uconn loses. We need to write our own story, who cares if the uconn lost. Good for us, we move up a notch. We need to beat R.I.

Teams losing within your conference is not good. Never understood that theory. We need our SOS to look as good as possible. That's the difference between 25-6 with a 4 seed, and 25-6 with a 7 seed.

Exactly...Uconn loss is not good. We need their RPI to be top 50 minimum and top 25 ideally. Loss to Wagner at home will kill their RPI.

You really think there is a 3 seed difference for us bc of what UConn did in their first game?

I know that's not directed at me but the point is the weaker the conference the weaker we look. No one isolated game would not affect things that much. But absolutely 25-6 in a stronger conference as opposed to a weaker conference can be the difference in a 4 or 7 seed. The conference needs several teams to be perceived well and actually be good. UConn is one of those and them dropping a buy game to start the year doesn't really bode well for the outlook on season.

I think UConn will be fine. They've had their stumbles early before. It might take them a bit to adjust to life without Hamilton. For now, I'm going to chalk it up as 1 awful game. I've never been that big on Temple and I think Tulsa is a joke, so I'm not that surprised about those teams struggling a bit. We can still get 5 teams in the field.

Yeah I mean of all top 25 teams to lose probably didnt want uconn to lose but oh well they are still gonna be good and going to be playing in March. Glad we are going to jump up in the rankings. We need to just blow through our schedule

Harry Giles, Jason Tatum and Marquis Bolden all sat out and Duke beat Grand Canyon (a solid team btw) by 35 points. That's insane considering Tatum and Giles are both probably going to be top 5 picks in the draft. It doesn't appear any of them will play against Kansas either. I'm sure they'll all be back if we were to play them though.
