It's more in him than troy. He understands when it's time for a bucket. Small sample size but yeah he's going to be a leader
Are you on drugs man? Did you not see that drive to the basket that lead to the and 1 or the jumper he made late in the game or the layup in the Purdue game.

Troy played small scoring roles in the blow out games then came to life in the big games and had huge games.

You were all on Jenifer early this season now it's Evans. In two weeks it will some one else. You seem to try and take a stance again the grain even if it's a bad move

Sorry you can't comprehend basketball. I moved on 5months ago from the jenifer/troy debate, season has started both play important roles I don't care right now about that. Ellis is an emotional leader and Evans i believe is an performance leader. Troy looks over his shoulder to Mick too much for a floor leader.

Me and L-T trolls?!?! Everytime jenifer makes a mistake or troy does something good the real sweater TROLLS come out in full force comparing the two. I said jenifer should start at PG 6months ago now you guys know his social security # and have samples of his DNA.

So your okay with him jacking up shots?? I'm good with a layup or a step in wide open three up 45

Jacking up shots? What the hell does that even mean? If your question is...am I okay with him taking open shots...the answer is yes until he proves he can't make a decent % of them. That is certainly not the case yet...in fact it is the opposite of the case. Titus Rubles proved he could not make shots in games even if he could in practice...there is NO comparison between the two. Don't over react over a couple missed shots or what his shot looks like...keep an eye on his %.

C'mon. You watch the games. You know what he means. He doesn't have a high % stroke.

Jacob, his stroke is good enough to allow him to shoot wide open shots on occasion, and he has proven he can make them.even if some bank in. The more of those he makes, the stronger the other parts of his game become. I don't see Mick getting upset when he shoots. He looks a lot more upset with the turnovers.

Jim Furyk has one of the uglier golf swings on the PGA tour, but he's top 10 in the world. I agree with you WH. Let him shoot!

That was my whole point. I don't care what the stroke looks like. I care how many go in the bucket

He's attempted 24 shots...13 threes. 46% from 3...50% FG%. 75% FT'S.

Those stats MAY fall off a cliff...but until they do...he should be taking open looks.

I agree with this. We just don't need him hunting shots.

I got lucky in that the Nebraska game was on Altitude TV out of Denver and the GW game was on Comcast Mid Atlantic. Thankfully didn't have to sit through the ESPN3 streaming problems.

Maybe Chad or someone who doesn't believe Jacob Evans should be team leader can answer this: what are 2 or 3 things we should watch for over the next month improvement wise (outside of wins/losses)? I sensed some hesitation and uncertainty in the last 2 games - passing up open looks or waiting too long to make the pass that was there - that one would think will get better as the team comes together.

For Evans and Jenifer, maybe it comes down to patience? Really don't have a problem with the occasional questionable shot (they're freshmen) but especially on Jenifer's side, it seems like he's really trying to force the action sometimes. The level of opposition kicked up a notch this weekend and it's a good teaching moment for him to realize that the passing/driving lanes aren't going to always be as open as they were in HS, or against Robert Morris.

What impressed me most this weekend was that Nebraska and GW both had stretches where they played extremely well, or at least shot the ball well, and got little to no separation from our guys. GW hit what, 8 or 9 threes in the 1st half and their biggest lead was 6. It was also pretty obvious that with limited prep time, the D was designed to take away each team's primary option and they did that very well both games. Lastly, it's evident that last season's slog of close games and down the stretch finishes have matured this team into a very tough out when the game is on the line. No panic, no pressure, they just ran their stuff, got tough rebounds and played close to mistake free from the 5 minute mark in. Experience is a helluva teacher, wouldn't you say? Nice to have a veteran team.

Great post.

Facilitator and closer. Pretty important player no matter how you slice it.

Lol, I think he is a little more of a hunter than what he should be. He seems to have an itchy trigger finger. About 60% of his shots, I'm thinking....Nooooooooo. And then.....Yeeessssssssss!......because the shot goes in either naturally or off the backboard. He plays with a high level of confidense and I love that. He's a winner! Evans too! Well done Mick!

I do love the confidence that our freshman have. I'd take the occasional bad shot over being too afraid to shoot any day.

Btw...what in the world was going on with that turnover on an inbound pass? They weren't even pressing. How the hell does that happen? Do we have assigned guys that are the only ones allowed to throw the ball in? If they aren't pressing, the closest guy grab it, throw it in to the closest guy, then relay it to the PG...absolutely insane that a college team did that. I was stunned.
