We still don't know how good our team is. They have played virtually nobody. Houston, on the other hand, has proven how good they are. Houston has lost to BYU, UCF and UL by a combined 13 points.

If we were playing at home I would pick UC vs spread. On the road I am not going to pick Houston but I am not going to bet this game in Vegas at +2.5 spread. I think this is going to be a close game unless we make too many mistakes whether that is players or coaches.

We took some chances that worked out beautifully vs Rutgers. I wouldn't mind seeing us take some chances against Houston but I would prefer those on offense and defense compared to taking chances in our kicking game. I like the fact that Washington was a QB in HS...I think this is where I would like to see us taking chances on a reverse or pass behind the line. I also hope we blitz a little at the right times.

This game is going to be won with coaching and game planning and will be lost if there is a significant differential in turnovers or penalties. These teams seem to be closely matched.

Another thing that I think could work against us. I think I remember TT saying in a presser that the Houston coach was with him or under him at some point in time in their career. He could potentially have some insider knowledge that could hurt us.

I would give Houston the advantage at this point...but I think our chances are decent. I would give us a 50-50 chance which is what I would give the UL game on our turf if we win because we will have great momentum coming in and Nippert will be rockin. If we lose (knock on wood) I would give us a 25% chance at home against UL...because there will be less fan excitement and less momentum.

This game is HUGE!!

I hope you don't mean like running RDAIV up the middle repeatedly. He's not Darren Sproles. If they want to run into the line, let them use bulk players. We've got 3 good ones: Green, Williams, and Luallen.
I think if our offensive line provides some good protection, Kay should have a field day. The defense is going to be hard-pressed as Houston's QB is sharp, especially for his experience level. And all their running backs produce consistently. Looking for a close game. Pick.

I am with you on RDA. The next run up the middle (with him) will be the last I want to see. At this point I would much prefer him exclusively on passing downs or plays.

Team looks very good so far but leaving serious points on the field: Miliano (another) missed field goal and turnover on downs at the 2 yard line. Hopefully those don't haunt us later in the game. Also, Kay is becoming a surgeon.

Leaving points like that is killer on the road. Could be a major difference in the end. The field is an absolute joke. I would not attempt any more FG's unless is was absolutely necessary. Miliano is done and the field conditions just add to his woes. I like how we are moving the ball on offense. I think if we continue to use the wild cat we need to let him throw one to keep the D honest.

A couple questionable decisions on Kay's two picks; those receivers simply weren't open and he tried to force it. UC pays the price; 10-7.

Two bad throws. Both we thrown behind the WR and we paid for it. All week the coaches talked about winning the turnover battle. We're down 1-2 right now. :( Defense is still staying strong though. Our offense needs to help them out.

Great response by the team. Drives down the field to make it 17-7 with 1:30 left in the half. A lot of mistakes and only a ten point lead when we have more than doubled their yardage. Need the defense to hold here to get us into the half and we get the ball first 2nd half.

They did just that! All in all, gotta be happy with a 10 point lead, especially with 2 INT's in our own end. I hope we come out with a quick start in the 3rd quarter.

Definitely. UC has to stomp on the neck now and put this game out of reach.

We really have played a good game so far on both sides. We should be up about 17 points (maybe more) the way things have gone. Kay forced a couple but otherwise he has been great.

I wish we would play our red zone D for the entire game because we have really done a great job of keeping teams out of the endzone. Bend don't break is what our D has been for a long time. With our offense...I think that is a nice strategy.

It is now time to see what we are made of. Players and coaches included. We need a stop...let's see if we can get it (again).
