If it is truly this long, then I'm sick and over it. I hope we stay in the AAC. Could care less about the Big 12 at this point. I was just in Texas last week, everyone in Texas thinks it's all about Texas. At the end of the day they don't care about anyone else. Why should we sit here and bag to get in. Screw them. Could careless to play in a conference like that when it will just be separated in a few years regardless.

Won't know until 6:30 PM ET today. You can find someone in the "know" to pretty much back up every possible option at this point. Some say no expansion, some say expansion by 2, some say expansion by 4 and maybe 6, some say (probably most truthfully) they don't have a freaking clue.

By now, a story like this usually is pretty much leaked. It's interesting to me that really no one knows. I guess we will see today what the next step is.

I guess there are two (or more) ways to look at this. If you are a pessimist, you would say that no news means there is nothing to report and therefore, status quo. If you are an optimist, you would say that non-disclosures have been signed and since this is big money, no one is jeopardizing anything by leaking something and therefore expansion will be announced. I'm a realist which means I don't have a damn clue.
 
Right. I just honestly have came to terms that I don't care anymore. Don't get me wrong I will be very happy if we get in, but this honestly have left a bad taste in my mouth with how this has been handled. It's like interviewing for a job and they are back and fourth with you, its almost like screw it, I'll stay at the company I am that appreciates me.
 
If the reports about Fox and ESPN paying the B12 to buy out their expansion clause are true than that will be a death blow to expansion.

As the current contract stands right now the B12 will get $25 mil/year/team if they expand with a max of up to 4 teams. Expansion by 2 schools would add $50 mil/year and 4 would add $100 mil/year but it would also divvy up the pie and water down the current competition. Let's say Fox offers $50 mil/year for the rights to the upcoming Championship Game and to buy out the expansion clause and ESPN contributes another $25 mil. A scenario like that would save the networks $25 mil/year based on 4 team expansion but allows the B12 to stay at 10 teams and not have to divvy up the financial pie.

This to me would seem like a very logical option for the B12 and the networks and would provide the proverbial death blow to UC athletics.

There's no way to know if the B12 or the networks are actually considering this type of proposal but it's by far the most damning report I've heard if true.

I am getting way too excited for the announcement today. I am remaining optimistic even though, who knows anymore. Just the thought for being in the Big 12 and the quality of basketball we will have return to a renovated 5/3rd arena gets me really excited. Crossing my fingers.

Its a fake. Cincinnati should only have a lower case C. Shouldn't be CINCINNATI. Plus the UC logo isn't done correctly. Here is the logo from the bookstore which matches the logo on all the other UC sites. The tweet looks different.

Yea your right. All the logos I see are Cincinnati not CINCINNATI.

Good troll on his part. We have those printers at work, so he just waited a good amount of ink to troll the internet
