Big 12

Help Support BearcatTalk:

The most encouraging factual news I've heard today is that the two consulting firms that originally advised the Big 12 to expand were both brought back into the meetings today and made a presentation right before the room opened for discussion.

From everything I've heard UC has done a great job of making their case for expansion to the consulting firms vs fighting their battles in the media. My hope is that the information being provided by the consultants is nothing that is currently being reported by journalists or on twitter.

This gives me reason to be hopeful among the many reasons to be sour on tonight's announcement.

Right. I just honestly have came to terms that I don't care anymore. Don't get me wrong I will be very happy if we get in, but this honestly have left a bad taste in my mouth with how this has been handled. It's like interviewing for a job and they are back and fourth with you, its almost like screw it, I'll stay at the company I am that appreciates me.

You don't even make sense dude, going to multiple interviews for a job with they slim down the pool of candidates is very reasonable, in fact that's pretty much exactly how it works for any important position. This is a process with a lot of money involved, don't get me wrong I wish they would hurry up already too. But, you can't be angry the want to do their due diligence with everything.

I know, you're right.

I get it, they need to do their due diligence this is a huge decision. It's just been so old hearing about this non stop and now the possibility of this not even being the final decision sucks. I also have a bad taste in my mouth from visiting Texas last week. That state thinks it's its own country. It's hard to even do business in that state with customers when you're not from Texas or living in Texas. Anyways, we will see what happens. I just feel like we have became so desperate in need of the Big 12 with Texas holding all the power of course and I hate feeling like we a bagging to get in. It is what it is though. I guess we kinda are desperate at this point.

I don't trust the conference in general. Feel like the conference will fall apart regardless in the next few years. Sorry for the negativity lol. Go Bearcats.

Just to be safe I think some of you guys should lock your shoe laces and bed sheets away in a drawer before tonight's announcement.

I truly believe we are going to get an invite as well. I think Houston was the team holding everything up and if they are out then a deal will get done. If Texas can't get over Houston the deal is probably dead. I really think the smaller school don't want an additional Texas team stealing even more recruits, even Oklahoma knows that means they'd lose another few 4 and 5 stars recruits each year too. And I think expanding the market makes the most sense TV wise. Why add a city that already predominately watches the big 12. Anyway, I'm not sure it'll come today, but it might but I'm feeling good about it.

And I know it's been a long drug out process, but we still have to realize what this would mean for our school. We'd be back in a prestigious conference, they may not be the best conference but they're a P5 and they've got a ton of history. Imagine what going to Texas and Oklahoma or having them play here every year in for all would do. Or playing Kansas a couple times a year in basketball. Recruits will eat it up, and we know we can be a top notch school with some work and a little conference backing. Look how we thrived in big east football and how exciting basketball was each season. And the money.. This is huge and I'm hoping we get in bad.

IF don't get in, I legit think we are cursed.

Our Reds can't win a playoff series even when up 2-0
Our Bengals blow a game in the playoffs and haven't won one in years
Our Bearcats basketball team lost so many games at the buzzer last season
Our Football program has gone to shit
FCC lost in the first round of the playoffs

I mean even Xavier experienced their best season of All time only to fall at the buzzer to Wisconsin.

Are we cursed?
