Lol, why are the meetings ending early necessarily a bad thing?

SMH over people's reactions to everything. News conference at 6:30, I suspect we'll know more then.

Of course it's not good. I'm not surprised. Playing devil's advocate, supposedly they had a "working dinner" surrounding expansion last night so, in theory, they may have made decisions yesterday about it. Frankly, I think expansion is dead for now. Just until UT and OU leave the Big 12.

Exactly.

There would be work to do if expansion was happening.

ISU's president left the meetings telling the media "He had a university to run."

All signs point to no expansion, but you can keep your head in the sand until 6:30.

Source: Status quo in the Big 12. No members added. League still discussing adding more TV revenue from ESPN and Fox

Still looks to me like the most likely scenario going into today is what will play out at 6:30, discussion ongoing with no formal decision reached today.

It's kind of hard to update my twitter with my head in this sand though so what do I know..........

For now. I do believe there will be another round of expansion once UT and OU leaves. I will be surprised if the GORs gets extended.

So only 8 more years of mid Major recruiting and lack of respect from teams.

sooo.. they wont can the renovation of the arena will they?

If it's 8 more years in the AAC with these two coaches running our flagship programs they should seriously consider canning the arena upgrade.

No way anyone is going to pay more money for season tickets and donations to come watch UC sports be mediocre to bad in the AAC.

Classic Cincinnati fans. Always so miserable and hateful. It's so sad.

The one guy on twitter, Flugar, has been pretty spot on with this stuff and supposedly, there is a negotiation in progress to get OU and UT out of the Big 12 (probably Kansas too) in the next 18-24 months and still allow the remaining members to have some leverage in adding members and negotiating a GOR extension. We'll see. Seems a lot to orchestrate considering the Big 12 couldn't figure out how to handle this mess.

I see the arena proceeding either way but this announcement today adds some financial uncertainty to the future for sure.

Classic realist, no way I'm paying $300-400 more/year for season tickets to pay for the renovation to 5/3rd. Which are the figures currently being floated around.

Unlike the Nippert addition the renovation of 5/3 doesn't add revenue streams so most of the costs will be passed along to the paying fans.

I'll assume you're a classic message boarder who probably doesn't get impacted by that since you probably don't pay to attend games.

Anyways, I've still got my head in the sand praying that we'll be getting in at 6:30. It isn't over until Bob Bowlsby says it's over.

How many players were recruited and committed to UC hoping to play in the Big XII? Will we see any de-commits/transfers from the football and basketball programs?
