By the way Uconn was 17-0 OOC and 9-9 in conference. Big East was well deserving of more than 11 teams.

Calm down my man, the top 3 teams didn't make it out of the second round. The one team to win it this year, is also a team that had a coach who was just caught cheating.
They were the deepest league, that is obvious. Again, the top 3 teams didn't make it out of the second round.

I think it was quite clear as the season wore on that, like throughout the nation, there was a lot of parity in the Big East... there were a lot of very good teams but no true GREAT teams... UCONN got the closest to achieving that and thus they are the Champions for it.
Take a look at the Final Four Breakdown:
1 Horizon
1 Colonial
1 SEC
1 Big East
Looks like the Big10 and Big12, which were widely regarded as two of the top 3 conferences in the country, didn't do so hot, themselves...

The top 3 teams out of alot of leagues did not make it out of the second round... Thats why its the greatest single event in the world... What a serious run by Uconn though, went from about 5th in the nation to unranked and then went on one of the most special runs in the world. to bad we had to meet them in the second round. who knows... What would of happened had UC not met Uconn and went on a bigger run themselves.. Hell what would of happened had we got Kemba. He might go down as one of the best guards to ever play college basketball.

- Pitt got beat in a buzzer beater type of situation and Butler went crazy from deep. They shot like 60 something percent from deep.
- ND got punked
- U of L got beat on a buzzer beater
- UC lost to champion and another Beast team
- Cuse lose to another Beast team
- Gtown was crushed by injuries
- St Johns best player was hurt
Big East caught some terrible breaks but still out preformed all the other major conferences.
A below average Big East team just won the NC. Thats unreal.
They may have finished 9th, but if you look really hard at the teams they were probably the one built the best (or second best) to succeed. They just needed the full season to grow their freshmen.
It is the perfect recipe for success in todays NCAA for the BCS schools. The little guys do it with continuity, seniors, and at least 1 NBA/borderline NBA talent. The big guys have to rely on a star player that makes everyone else around him play better and freshmen that no longer play like freshmen at the end of the season.

UConn/UC had 18 losses and not a single one outside of conference. Incredible!

Other than National Champions, I wonder if a single team has ever ended the season w/o a loss outside of conference. It is pretty rare to be knocked out of the tourney by a team in your own conference, and even then you would have had to be unbeaten in your non-league schedule to that point. This year there are two, plus the champion...unreal. BEast is a beast.

Both teams last night looked pitiful.
UConn went 1-11 from 3, and shot 34% for the game
Butler looked even worse, going 9-33 from 3 and shooting a titanic 18% for the game.
I turned it off at halftime. I haven't seen a more lousy basketball game since ..............................ever.

I don't think I've ever seen a team shoot 9-53 from the field. Butler left their offense on the bus.
