Exactly, I just get tired of pessimism by Bearcats fans. Even when you look at our team objectively, we only have one loss where we just got destroyed. This is a solid UC team and UK, as seen in the Arkansas game, isn't unbeatable.

I agree. Uc is a very good team. 16-2 , won 9 straight, top 5 defensive, ranked in the top 20 I'm not afraid to play any team.we are a better team than kentucky

Cincinnati is a better team than New Mexico, however they are a bad match up for UC (even with Lawrence). Kentucky has 2 lottery picks on the front line, and Randle is the best post scorer in the country. They are simply not a good match up for this team...hell St. Johns is a bad match up for UC too which is why they won on our home floor two years in a row. Sometimes that is just how it goes.

I can't take this board at times, any logic thought is completely shot down...

I agree that Kentucky would be a bad matchup for us. A legitimate 7-footer, plus one of the most dominant power forwards in the country.

No one is saying Cincinnati can't beat Kentucky, or even that Kentucky is a better team. It's just a fact that they are a bad match-up for this particular Bearcats team. Just looking at other local teams, I would honestly rather play Ohio State than Kentucky, even though OSU is probably the better team.

It's because of your comprehension of what I'm saying. All I am saying is that UC can hang with them if we play well. I'm not saying it's an amazing matchup, I was stating what I thought was a generally accepted truth-UC, if they play well, won't get blown out against almost anyone. It's not like I said UC could beat the 1992 USA Dream Team, I'm saying they can hang in there with a team that is only ranked 6 spots ahead of us. If you would just take what I'm saying and stop trying to twist it so that it sounds outrageous, you probably wouldn't be in the minority of this argument.

It's not because you're saying UK would probably beat UC. It's because you're saying there's NO WAY UC could even hang with 'em. You're counting out a team that has a similar ranking, RPI, etc. If you think the matchup doesn't favor, I see where you're coming from; I agree that Randle would be tough to stop. That said, to not even give UC a chance doesn't make a lot of sense.

Where did I say that? Talk about twisting words. You guys crack me up.

You said "Lol what the hell are you talking about? Just stop. This particular Kentucky team is a bad match up for UC, they have two lottery picks on the frontline which is exactly where UC is weak. It is just that simple." That sounds a whole lot like you're saying UC doesn't stand a chance. You're right, I didn't initially copy and paste your initial quote, but do you not believe what I said?

I would agree with your assessment about matchups (we match up better with some teams than others and perhaps UK is one we don't) but I think you are being a bit touchy on a difference of opinion as "logical thought being completely shot down". That's a bit over the top. There are people who agree and disagree with you I am sure. What you are calling logic is a two way street. In reality logic is not a two way street...it's one way. Opinion is a two way street and that is what you are offering...and I am not disagreeing with you.

I have to agree with NTS here. I wouldn't want to play KY. The size they have inside would be a big Challenge for our guys. Randle is one of the best bigs in country. Wouldn't surprise me if he was the first pick in the NBA draft this year. Come tourney time they will be a hand Full for whoever they play.

Cincinnati, Xavier and Louisville all in Orlando would be cool.

That would be a fun trip for our fans, like you said,
it would be cool. I think I would rather play Georgetown, as it seems like we always play well against them. Don't know
much about Michigan this year, but they were very good last year.

Georgetown beat us twice last year but they aren't nearly as good this season. Michigan is a good offensive team as always, but I think Cincinnati would beat them 7/10 times.

For those of you with insider... I found this pretty cool. I think it is kind of confusing though... here are Cincinnati's percentages...

Sweet 16: 35.2% #15 our of 51
Final Four: 6.2 % #15 out of 51
Odds to win Tournament: 2.2% #11 out of 51

I just think it is confusing how we can have the 15th highest chance to make the sweet 16 and final four but the 11th best chance to win the tournament....

My best guess is they are using some type of model that believes the only way UC goes as far as a final 4 is by massively improving their offense, but for that to happen they would then be one of the best teams in the country bc their D is so elite. Thus a final 4 trip is more highly correlated with a national title than most other programs .
