I'm telling you they are D1 worthy. Saying otherwise is borderline ridiculous.

D1 yes, but a top D1 school, I'm not sure. They can get away with it in Cronin's system where the complete focus is on defense. I seriously can't picture Sanders and Guyn starting or getting many minutes at any other top 1/2 teams in the big conferences.

Mick was yelling "don't you ever get in my face." That is why he didn't get T'd up, Valentine knew he was wrong.

I would assume so too. The national media was tweeting that Valentine crossed the line by doing that.

Shaq at least attempts to play unlike Sanders, Guyn, and Rubles who look scared to be out there. Shaq just has no composure and can't shoot to save his life.

You are wrong about Rubles. Doesn't score but he plays with passion and he did so today

just one.

I get your gripe with Guyn, he was awful for most of the game today. He definitely is a D-1 player. It is not like Mick just picked out of nowhere, he did have offers from Baylor, Iowa State, Providence, Dayton, etc. He isn't a point guard, and Caupain hasn't played well enough to take charge of the team.

But I agree with you on Guyn. Has anyone seen his assist to TO ratio this year? If not you don't want to know.

Guyn is averaging 0.9 assists and 1.1 turnovers a game. Is there any other starting point guards in the country that have numbers that bad? And he has one of the best scorers in the country and he doesn't even average an assist a game. Sorry, that's beyond bad.

Caupain's problem is he's trying to defer so much. I think offensively he could do so much more.

Been harping on this since he's been here.

He's been awful most of the year and he is a junior. And I disagree, IMO Caupain has outplayed him in all but maybe a few games this year. But Mick like's Guyn's defense (which I also think is severely overrated)....Did anyone see (maybe there was discussion in this thread already) Guyn "go" for the loose ball at mid-court where he basically just sat there and said "come to me ball" while UConn actually dove for it? It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad to watch.

I have no problems with rubles, as long as he isn't shooting. I just don't see why GG continues to get the minutes he does. He belongs on this team, off the bench for defense. That's it. I saw the play mentioned above, gotta hit the floor there, and watching the guy go on a fast break after his horrible pass.

Pitino looks like someone gave a homeless man an expensive suit. Come on tigers.

Rubles defense and rebounding have been great. But offensively he is horrible and compounds it when he tries to dribble. Hell today he just tripped over himself dribbling. It stinks he hasn't gotten any better offensively since arriving on campus. UC is playing one on five and it's going to wear down SK.

I agree that Guyn has been awful but he did a pretty good job on Napier today and Smith last Saturday. We need both of them to play well in their roles to be successful.

what is up with the continued lazy passes from every player? why do they think they can just lob it around? so frustrating....

Rubles shouldn't touch the ball. He should make himself the best screener in the country because he's about as limited as me on the offensive end.

He does the same crossover dribble every time. I like when he helps break the press, but when he tries to break someone down off the bounce it is basically a turnover.

agreed...but guyns should be a much diminished role...

The biggest thing guyn has is his supposed huge vertical (which he never uses to finish at the rim or rebound).

Napier got his points, other than FF's, while Caupain was in the game. He went 4-13 from the field. That's why GG plays. Same with Smith and all the other shooters he guards. He just doesn't drive - and he should. One assist doesn't hack it, I agree. And, yes, he should have dove for that ball, but from his perspective it may have looked like it was coming to him pretty fast. Caupain, on the other hand, had no assists (although he tried) vs 3 TO's. All his assist attempts were on drives he should have finished, but decided to defer to SK who was cold and/or double teamed. (Rubles doesn't finish either). What's with that logic? When we kicked UCF's butt, I said a bad team makes you look better than you are. Unfortunately, these last few games confirm that. SK cannot carry the whole team - plain and simple. We ARE a good team, not a great team. We manage to stay in most every game thanks to a GREAT defense. If only JJ could play 35+
Go Cats!

He did an okay job. Rubles actually did the better job and late in the game when Napier had a couple key drives, it was on bad defense by Guyn. Rubles played great on him...And I don't think it was anything Caupain couldn't have done. Again, it's sacrificing offense for defense and it costs them when they play good teams. You can't score four points in 12 or so minutes and expect to win. The offense is 10x better with Caupain.

Maybe I watch a different game than everybody else, but I don't see Guyn just locking these guys down 1v1. We switch a ton on defense.

Guyn did have Napier at the end and Napier blew by him twice. Not that Napier wouldn't do that to just about anybody, but to say Guyn locked him up is kinda silly.

Our team defense locks guys up.
