But there are many times when you see an opportunity to get out in transition and they don't do it. Even Jay Bilas a few weeks ago was pointing out and questioning why Cincinnati wasn't running when the situation dictated it. They pointed it out about 3 times during the telecast.
is Jay Bilas at practice everyday. Has he seen all the games UC has played this year. Give me a break he has as much credibility talking strategy as you. He is a spectator.

your silly. Team is 17-2. I don't need to account for anything else. He manages his team to victory. Sit back l-t the tough part of the schedule is coming up. This will be you best chance to say I told you so.

Come on Waite. I'm detecting a little lack of confidence in your boy. Why would us suddenly playing some real competition have you suddenly declaring that I will have an opportunity to say I told you so? If you have confidence in the coach, and the 17-2 record is the proof, you should be declaring that I won't be able to have that opportunity. I would expect your expectations for the big 6 games to be 4-2 or 5-1. After all, we know how easily Mick handles the Hall of fame coaches.

this comment proves exactly why your full of garbage. MC has over achieved with this group. If he makes the Dance and finishes top 3 in league it will be a very good year. For the record My head says we lose two to Louisville and slit with UCONN. SMU is a toss up and Memphis here on senior night the cats win.

The fact that he says he'd like to press and run and then adjust his plan as the season unfolds is bothersome to fans? I could understand that if we were terrible, but we're winning. So now he has to win a certain way. If I was MC I would be on the first plane smoking out of this town. Let some other coach come in here and overcome all he has to deal with and put a winner on the court. If the negative group is ever successful in getting him to leave either terminated or for another job. I'm gone as well. Guy has defied the odds with his performance. As stated on sports talk Tuesday night people outside this city have much more respect for the program then the people of Cincinnati.

You seem to be lumping me in a group that wants him gone. Absolutely not the case, I hope he retires here.

Would I prefer a more uptempo brand of basketball? Sure, it's way more enjoyable to watch. First, I'm all for winning, but I have a hard time watching a lot of games and I'm a diehard and continually pony up for tickets. Empty seats prove that the brand just isn't that exciting.

Second, I'd prefer if Mick was just comfortable with his style, which I don't think he truly is. IMO he desperately wants to be a run and gun team (hence the reason he always is quoted at the beginning of the season with saying how much the team is going to press and run) but just doesn't have it in him. He values ball possession too much. Not that that's a bad thing but I do think it causes issues with the identity of the team.

Lastly, and this is to just throw this in here, but I think Mick is doing a heck of a job this year. The Xavier game was a huge letdown but since then they have played pretty well. Sure it's been ugly for most of the time but I'm getting used to the fact that that is the way it's going to be. Very good defense, not so great offense.

Jay Bilas knows basketball. And I have a feeling if he said Mick Cronin was doing an absolutely fantastic job, you wouldn't question his credibility.

didn't mean to misrepresent you. MC is very comfortable. His teams play smothering D and win. The two guys he coached under play the same way. If he had access to the same level of talent I think you'd see a more uptempo. He is slowly gaining the reputation needed to get that type of athlete. There is nothing wrong with the style they play if we win. I could name you many schools who would kill to win and don't care how it's done. If winning isn't enough for a fan base my suggestion for MC would be leave as soon as possible.there are better jobs put there.

why would I MC is 17-2 and beating all the pre season projections. If he said MC was doing poorly I would question his comment. I'm not a MC apologist. I want a winner. It I didn't think Cronin could do it I would say so.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. I'm not looking for Mick to be fired. I'm looking for more of what's happening this year, with a hope that it's even better in years to come. Could care less if it is Mick that brings us the success, or someone else.

Are you just talking about this year or the future of the program? I'd agree that we've pretty much seen what we have on offense this year. I do have hope, however, for better offensive efficiency in the years to come with the influx of bigs next year. Hopefully we'll end up with better spacing, more attempts around the basket, and more chances to kick the ball out to open shooters. The offense was much better during Gates' last two years.

L-T forget about the open seat I just landed two in section 107 row 17. Will be there with my son. The only issue is he is a TOSU grad. It's not all bad he will cheer for UC as long as they don't play the Bucks.

I'm sorry for your loss. :D

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that Shaq goes off tonight & has his best game of the year. No rhyme or reason, just a weird premonition.

Scouting report on UC... Play 2-3 zone lol. Ay ay ay just terrible half court offense.

How can the refs be this bad and we aren't even 10 min in.

A lot of weird line-ups tonight. You got to think Mick and the staff are trying to see what will work going into the tough stretch of the season. A lot of Johnson and Caupain (who is getting an earful from Mick all night) in the back court. Also, I don't think I've ever seen Nyarsuk and Jackson together at the 4/5.
