Ok, we all know there is still work to be done for the Bearcats to earn the NCAA bid we all hope and expect them to get. That said, I came across an interesting stat from Adam Zagoria today which bodes very well for UC.

AdamZagoria Since the introduction of automatic bids, 128 of 132 Big East teams that had 20 wins B4 Selection Sunday have reached the NCAA Championship.

I fully expect UC to get 1 more win at home and a win against a struggling Marquette team on the road. Marquette is 3-5 in their last 8 and two of those wins are a one point win @USF and a 9 point win against Seton Hall at home. I really think the Big East is getting 10 teams in and I think the one that gets left out is Marquette. We can seal their fate (barring an improbable Big East Tourney run) with a win over them. Their only good wins this year are against ND and Syracuse (both at home). They don't really have any bad losses but with only 16 wins on the season, they are going to be hard pressed to get to 20 even with a win in the Big East Tournament. Their schedule is much easier than ours down the stretch with games against Providence, UCONN, and Seton Hall compared to our two against Georgetown and one against UCONN. It is pretty simple for UC. Beat Marquette and you eliminate them from the tourney and all but stamp UC's ticket.

I think one more win gets us in personally, and I think that will come at home.

You seem confident about winning at Marquette? While they are struggling as of late, they have some nice wins at home... with that being said, UC really doesnt have a great road win (st Johns is becoming one). I think that will be a tough game personally. I like our chances at home vs gtown for some reason.

with the fight this team has shown the last two games, i feel good about winning at least one if not two more games in the regular season. plus, if the Cats put up a solid game or two in the BEast tourney, i will be awaiting selection sunday. LL, a win against G-town at home would be awesome. I hope your feelings come to fruition.
Go Bearcats!

One, including Big East Tourney? I think UC needs more than that. I think the Marquette game is very doable, they haven't been playing as well recently. One thing with them though, they will never give up. They will work like crazy.

Marquette is going to be a struggle folks. It's always a tough place to win.

That being said, SJU dominated Marquette for the final 20 minutes of their battle about a week ago at Marquette and won by 10ish. We can beat Marquette, but it will take a huge effort. Good defense on Crowder and Odom-Johnson, and limit turnovers. We need a full 40 mibutes of bball.

Gtown presents a huge challenge. The good thing is that Gtown's offense is not terribly explosive and I do not know if they are capable of "walking the dogs" on us. I don't think they can blow anyone out at this point of the season. Of course, we'll need to defend, rebound and make some freaking shots. I would love to see Killa or Davis get hot from 3, as we'll need some scoring from a different source.

What I would love to see against Gtown:

1. Throw it to Yancy.

2. Throw it to him some more.

3. Cash needs to stay aggressive and attack.

4. Less than 8 turnovers.

One more thing to add to your list: Limit their runs. Georgetown seems to be streaky. Once they get it going, especially from the outside, all their shots seem to fall. UC needs to limit their runs and not let the game get away from them early if they want to have a chance.

its also senior night for marquette. intangible that cannot be overlooked for a team that is always led by strong seniors.

Marquette gives more consistent effort than any other team in the Big East. They are small so BA1 is right...THROW THE BALL INSIDE!!

Be strong with the ball, limit turnovers and 3's. It's winnable but you better be ready to battle. Yancy Gates has a real opportunity in these last games. Nobody has a player to match up with him down low in any of the remaining games. Keep attacking, get Yancy to move quickly with the ball once he gets it, play good defense. I actually have a good feeling about this home stretch.
