Okay, what game did you watch and say, damn, that is an outstanding squad that plays smart basketball? I can really see this team make a run at a title?

I don't think UC can make a run to the title. I don't think we are average.

How are average and outstanding the same thing?

LOL, nice way to avoid the question.

OK, you would't call them average, so you much think they are good, right?

What game did you watch and think this is a pretty good team?

Is that better for you?

All but two games I have seen team defense that tells me they can win on any given night. That's all you have to do in a tournament. If UC, like most teams do, hit a stretch of games where their shots are falling collectively, there aren't many teams that will want to play them because of that defense. There are no great teams this season. There are 3-4 teams I think UC would struggle against with Lawrence back. Other than that I think they could beat any team in the country on a given night, and again in a tournament that's all that you have to do.

Cash was a better scorer, Craft is better at making those around him better.

I think Cashmere was a better on ball defender than Craft. Cashmere was better at getting steals than anyone I've ever seen. If he didn't hurt his knees and lose all his lateral quickness his overall defensive game would have been phenomenal.

Craft is extremely overrated.

NO WAY!!! Craft is the greatest ever! Or at least that is what some would have you believe.

I agree with you about Cash and Craft.

I didn't avoid the question; you implied I thought they were outstanding when all I said was they were above average. No reason to get upset.

To answer your question, the Louisville and Michigan State game made me think they were pretty good.

I would agree with you about Cash and steals but just for the fun of it I would like to make a comparison to Caupain. In their freshman years.

Cash...18.5 min...5.4 pts...2 reb/game...69 ass...52 TO's...25 steals

TC...20 min...6.8 pts...2.7 reb...44 ass...25 TO's...21 steals (so far)

TC is a little behind pace in assists but other than that he leads the other categories. This doesn't mean TC is better than Cash...just thought it was an interesting comparison.

He's behind is assists only because Cash played 34 games whereas TC has only 19 so far - TC's assist to turnover ratio is far better (1.76 vs. Cash 1.33).

There is no phase of the game that, at the same point in their careers, TC doesn't look better.

early in Cash's career he was physically unprepared for the rigors of d1 basketball.

Yah...I got lazy and didn't want to do the math since TC has a few more minutes per game:) But you are correct....even assists he is probably slightly better considering 34 games.

Not to knock him but he was plagued with nagging injuries his entire career almost.
knee injuries are tough to over come. What I was referring to was he had a very slight build when he got here. We also moved into BE were the physical style of play was a staple.

Cash had a hard time getting to and finishing around the rim until his Junior year or so as well. TC is already leaps and bounds better at that. Not to say he'll be better, Cash had a spectacular career, but TC has all the tools to be special over his 4 years.

Exactly Ryno. As a point guard having the strength to get where you need to be on the floor is huge. Cash used his quickness to off set some of his physical shortcomings. That was hamppered by his constant knee problems. Would have been nice to see how he would have develoed without the injury history. He was still very good even with the injuries.

I think Troy Caupain if he remains healthy will be very good for the next three years. I would have like to have seen what Cash could have been without injury.
