Who ya got? What needs to happen?

Honestly we need to play better. We are capable of playing better. We really need someone to step up. Someone like Deonta or Larry Davis. If Larry could hit like 2 or 3 threes that would be so nice.

You know who I got.

Mick got all over Larry Davis tonight.

"Shoot the *ucking ball! You're wide open! Shot the *ucking ball!"

Direct quote from Mick's mouth when Larry hesitated then hoisted a three. Of course, the shot missed. Larry needs to shoot and not think. Not to mention, he would not take a layup tonight and instead passed the ball when he was in the paint, below the basket.

Its been a tough year for Larry. After coming on strong last year before the ankle injury at Pitt, his shot just hasn't been falling, and it has clearly become a mental thing with him now.

He would be extremely valuable to this team if he was making shots, but when he isn't he just offers almost nothing offensively. I like his defense against smaller, quicker guards, but this team needs more offense and he just isn't bringing it.

The players lack mental toughness, not to mention confidence. LS made the first ft at the last second because he knew he could. Thank goodness for that.

For Louisville, play with passion, abandon, and believe.

It would be great if Deonta could realize earlier in the game when his shot's not falling, so he can focus his effort on getting his teammates open looks. And so he doesn't jack up brick after brick after brick.

Game against Louisville on at 9:00pm on espn.

Prime time on their main channel....this is a big game for MC.

I know Larry and Deonta have been in a funk but shooters got to keep shooting. They may not be "shooters" but they are the closest thing we got.

Tied at 47. Sonnuva....

Will they fold as usual, or keep it up for the remainder of the game?

UC up 60 to 53 w/ 6:20 to go. Not great basketball, but they are attacking and rebounding w/ a vengeance. Where's this team been?

Up 1 and the ball w/ 9 seconds left. Hit the free throws, play D, and don't foul.

Up 3 w/ 5.9......scratch that. Foul them before they take a shot. Do not give them a good open look at a 3.

UC wins.

DV swipes at the ball WHILE he's in shooting motion?? No foul, but could have tied the game if called. That, with the 'almost walk' makes me wonder why our only senior on the floor continues to act the role of a freshman?

In any event, great win for UC.

Deonta makes bad decisions too often, but I just cant complain right now. That was an extremely gutsy effort from the team. The absolute domination on the glass was extremely impressive. Very happy to have another chance at WVU.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Deonta didn't play much in the second half.

I'm not certain, but I don't think he played from 12 minutes remaining until he promptly turned the ball over with 1:30 left.

He was then yanked (which I applaud Mick soooooo much for doing) and inserted later to make free throws, which he did.

Great win.

Much of the second half we played Cash (frosh), 'Quan (frosh), Lance (frosh), Yancy (soph) and Thomas (junior). Our future is bright.

Deonta didn't deserve to play tonight. He has done a lot for this program and I'm extremely grateful, but his role should be reduced unless he is draining threes.

I don't think anyone has a clue as to where Deonta's game has gone. He did stick those clutch free throws at the end, but he is a shell of what he once was............Those young cats are playing "balls out", fun to watch. And, we get Huggs' crew tomorrow night. UC's chances at this thing are as good as anybody else's. If we run out of gas, we run out of gas...... The effort I saw the last two nights will get me back to the Shoe, if it comes to a first round NIT game. GO CATS!!!
