This is what started the whole thing. It's still a possibility they will fire him, how likely who knows. Have you read the DDJ article? Skip down to the second to last question.

I'd assume the interview was conducted yesterday. This is the most relevant part. David DeJulius "We have to see with Mr. Cunningham and the rest of the administration how everything pans out."

And as I've said, the door is not closed comment from Saunders today is almost certainly not about him coming back to play for Brannen. The Saunders/Brannen relationship is clearly fractured and probably both are at fault to a degree. I very much doubt Saunders wants to come back to play for Brannen and I very much doubt Brannen wants him back.

I completely disagree with your stance on Saunders comment. The only person i have seen come up with that theory is you. I haven’t seen one person that didn’t think it was about coming back to play. From people that don’t even like brannen.

I think you’re in your own head on that one.

Based on what we know, actually know, what would they fire him for? Name something. Justin Williams on mo effect said that the players that left said brannen wasn’t mean spirited, it was more a trust issue. Some players are staying.

To me it seems like a tight group that made a pack to leave. Not saying they were wrong, there’s certainly issues. I just think everything is magnified with the COVID thing. There isn’t a textbook to read on how to handle this thing. Players are stuck in their rooms, stewing on everything they think is a slight toward them. To add to that, the team sucked and the last game we lose by 40 again. Brannen probably didn’t handle any of it right, the players probably didn’t either.

If they are going to fire him, (they’re not), I wish they’d do it. Waiting longer isn’t going to help. Think we are in a bad spot now, the longer we wait the worse it will get.

We will absolutely F this up entirely as we have always done! Culture

Not knowing anything, mason and Saunders, should have stayed. Those two aren’t going to play as much as they would have here. I could see them regretting it a little. Or maybe not, maybe it was that bad. Tari is whatever. We seen that coming. He’ll end up somewhere out west.

If they fired Brannen the new coach wouldn’t want those players back anyway. A new coach would be walking in egg shells that a crying unhappy player will get him fired.

If they investigate and find that Brannen was a major locker problem and fire him (even if it's not with cause). The next coach is going to believe he can actually build relationships and keep players happy. Relationship building, dealing with various personalities and keeping everybody happy is a large part of coaching. In fact, I believe Calipari has referred to it as the largest part of coaching.

I’m sure they’ve talked to everyone by now. Probably had that done by Wednesday

The guy that coaches the majority of his players for one year said that.... lol

Yeah just a few guys, one or two maybe. Cumberland, Sorolla, Rap, Moore, Harvey, Diarra, Mason, Gabe, Eason and Saunders. And the strength coach, don't forget about him. But he's just a man quitting his job, just couldn't handle the heat either. And let's ignore the reports that Brannen had issues at NKU to, that was probably just a few players as well.

Occam's razor. It's a lot easier to say that one person - Brannen - is the problem than that most of the above players were.

Sure, DDJ likes Brannen and says he trust him. But he also says that he understands why the guys left, that the culture does need to change. That Brannen needs to change. He just believes that change will happen and was closer to Brannen than the others.

We don't know what happened, we have rumors, people reporting things they've heard and anonymous player quotes. That's probably all we will ever have. Some of those reports are that Brannen manipulated, deceived and lied to players.

So you’re saying one, out of his whole staff didn’t get along with him? Omg he must be a terrible person.

1 page, single spaced apology to the brannen family if a player returns.

It would be weird for any player to return but there is obviously rumors out there. Like you said, where there is smoke there is fire, right?

Either way. If we are waiting on Mikey only to return if coach is “replaced” then who gives a crap? If there were several willing to stay with a new coach I would think more heavily about the changes.

Saunders is not big enough to make drastic decisions about

Plot twist.. could it be possible that saunders is the issue?

Right lol. He’s literally the only one that I feel like has these huge issues, and maybe some players took his side and turned on Brannen too. But I’m just not seeing this mass revolt that he keeps portraying.

What are they waiting for then? Again, I refer to the second to last question in the DDJ interview and his answer. His answer makes it quite clear they (players and coaches) are waiting on Cunningham and the admin. I assume that interview was on Friday.

I'm not sure I'd want him back... To be honest.

And Calipari is a terrible example of a coach lol. He’s just a good recruiter. What has he won without NBA superstars in his team?

What’s supposed to happen? I don’t understand what you’re expecting.

Only if I can expect a full apology to the departing players if Brannen is fired. Also, I have only referred to one specific player.

Saunders had two PM's leaked where he said he is leaving because of the coach. Brannen's wife was liking tweets trashing Saunders for leaving. Saunders mom went after Brannen for walking off the court early. This isn't reaching, this is stuff that is easily visible if you've been paying close attention.

Hard to believe Saunders would want to come back after that, hard to believe Brannen would want him back.

Wasn’t it Easons’ mom that chimed in on
Brannen quick exit ? I haven’t seen Saunders’
Mom post- guess I missed them.
Also, think Brannen could’ve handled end of
Game better exp with so much youth but can
Understand him being pissed - they flat out
quit ! Maybe not purposefully but certainly
mentally.

The guy that coaches the majority of his players for one year said that.... lol

The guy who deals with 4 and 5 stars who come in with entourages and expectations of going pro.

Three of Brannen's four highest rated recruits have transferred out. And I'm being generous by counting Lakhin among Brannen's highest rated recruits.

Of the ones he inherited (Cumberland) made it clear he doesn't like Brannen.

Pretty sure it was Saunders mom that first commented.

Saunders mom is the one who commented that she was "glad the cameras caught that" when Brannen walked off the court early.
