Not picking on you, but go back and read some of your posts from yesterday. We went manic.

It was kind of therapeutic to come read what everybody was saying. Tough tough tough loss.

Oh I agree. I said things I didn’t mean.

But I love UC basketball.


And until we move into a power 5 league, we will always be the underdog.

It's not the philosophy in general imo. It's the way we close out halves/games. We go into the equivalent of prevent defense. It's the same thing West Va does and it's why they always lose to KU. Playing over 25% of the game in "hang on for dear life" mode is a stupid idea in the tournament, no matter what the score is. If there's anything Cronin needs to learn, it's that. We were up by 3 TDs in the 4th Q and we ran up the middle every time and gave them 15-20 yard passes all the way down the field.

Many fans griped about this a lot this year. And rightfully so.

We did have 65 points with over 10 minutes left. We have guys who can score. That's not the issue. Talent is not the issue. It's taking our foot off the gas and switching to a mode that yields very little PPP. It's a race to run out the clock against a team you've been beating down the whole game. It just changes the mentality. And it's not good for us.

Agree . You know why umbc beat virginia? They played loose and confident, they took open shots and didn't worry purely about using the entire shot clock every possession. When you do that, you make it so easy to for defenders.

Your letting this loss cloud the state of the program. Im not just talking about this year.

I mean, if you want to Mick to build a powerhouse like Loyola, be my guest.

I dunno about you, but there isn't a program in the South region that i'd trade with UC's outside of UK. Sure, they made a sweet 16. And they probably will miss the tourney in 2 years after that.


Its funny what a few bigs wins will do to keep your name in the good graces of fans. Tom Izzo is like 2-28 against coach k, self, williams & Boehiem. And he has lost tourney games in the first and 2nd round with Sure fire NBA talent.

Winning is hard. I mean, people think Chris Mack is the greatest thing since sliced bread and yet, he only seems to win in the tourney when he is the underdog. He's been knocked out twice as a 1 or 2 seed in the 2nd round.


Am i upset at the loss? Of Course, I could taste that win. But no one was saving us from Nevada when we were dead ass cold. No one could hit a single shot in the last 8 minutes. Not Cane (1-6), Not Evans, Not Gary, Not Cumberland, Not jenifer, Not Washington. If Chris Mack would have drawn up the most beautiful shot for a wide open look, we still would have missed it.

No you don't. Give it till Sunday and the hurt will disapate enough to see again. I think back to the rebuilding years and am fine to NOT do that for a very very long time.

Makes about as much sense as calling for firing a coach with back to back 30 win seasons, regular season and tournament champs in a conference with 3 top 25 teams, and one of the longest consecutive tournament appearance streaks in the country. People tend to say some dumb ass stuff.

I don't understand this. Of course he wasn't. But why not call timeout before the lead shrinks to 10. Huggins used to do the same thing. Only he would wait even longer. Call timeout, tell them to stop shooting darn jump shots! Tell them to spread the Floor. Drive to the hole, Force the ref to blow the whistle and win the game at the line.

2. Tell your team to stop shooting jump shots, and drive the ball because you're almost in the bonus.
