Youre never happy

You seem very qualified to make that statement considering I have no clue who you are. I was happier than a pig in shit when Brian Kelly was here.

Recently, when it comes to the performance of the teams I root for, then you're right. I've been very unhappy. Everything else in life is great, but I'm a passionate sports fan so it's a little disappointing when the teams you invest time and money in never compete for championships.

If we hire Luke Fickell I won't be happy. I'll give him a chance but I also suspect we'll be back here again in 4 years and everyone else will be along for the ride giving him the same treatment TT got before he walked.

One we aren't playing a big ten sceadule and two 5 of the 6 losses were by 7 pts or less couple balls roll the other way and that season is whole lot different (did I mentions those suspensions...) and three he has had five years to learn from urban Meyer and is now ready

That's what losing teams always say.

Ready? Obviously; didn't learn enough to be Defensive coordinator, needed Schiano to oversee him.

Will do. 3 years minimum (as long as he doesn't quit on the team like Tuberville vs BYU).
Nobody hates OSU more than I do, but once he puts on the Red & Black then he's my guy. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he shows he's not worthy of it. I was willing to give TT a pass on last season if they bounced back this year - but he kept digging the hole deeper for us so I'm glad we've moved on from him.

I'll be keeping a close eye on the assistants he chooses and how recruiting goes on his watch. I think 80% of the battle at our level is getting the right kids into the program. Get in a bunch of studs and almost anyone can make themselves competitive.

I'm in. Let's get going.

Go Cats!

Please keep us posted about the OC, Assistants, and recruiting. I hope they can knock it out of the park.

If it is him/them it might well be a goood thing for UC recruiting from one standpoint....

Coaching staffs will look at hundreds of kids and evaluate them, but they only have so many scholarships to offer. A school like ohhowihateohiostate will try to skim off the top 20-25 that they can get. But that leaves dozens of other kids that can play at that level, but which they don't have a place for. He/they will have already have had access to the recruiting reports from all the other coaches there, and will already have built up relationships with kids that are not going to get an offer from that school, but may now consider following them to UC. In addition, they will already have relationships built up with HS coaches in this area of the country and will not need to establish them before they can use that relationship to benefit recruiting.

If he comes, I'll root hard he is successful.

However, I hate the hire on several levels, just 1 being O$U. Mostly don't like it because it seems they didn't learn and are more interested in hiring a coach that sticks. He spent a limited time as a HC and wasn't successful. Sure they had all kinds of things going on, but O$U talent is deep, I don't think it's an excuse. I don't know enough to know if it's a good hire or not, but I don't like what I see. Hopefully, he's the right guy if he gets the gig.

Hopefully if we do get him it's for a low salary (less than 1.5/year) and we're willing to give him a big pool for assistants. Will he be able to find top assistants willing to work on his staff??
