Former Bearcats

BearcatTalk

Help Support BearcatTalk:

Cumberland with 2 points, 3 boards and an assist in his NBA debut for the Trail Blazers. The assist was a nice bounce pass fast break dime.

Keith Williams

Wondering if anyone knows the status of
Keith Williams at Western Ky ?
Checked their athletic site & couldn’t find that
he had even played or if not/why not ?
Thanks

Logan Johnson helps St. Mary's beat Indiana with a line of 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Last I heard he was riding the bench. Glad for him to bounce back. Wish he had stayed at UC.

And he'll be facing off against Mick Cronin tomorrow.

Several former Bearcats are in the tournament. Tari at LSU. Vogt at Wisconsin. Nsoseme at Georgia St (who sadly was injured during the first half against Gonzaga).

But 20 points in a NCAA game is pretty notable. I don't know if he worked on his shot, or what. I didn't watch that game. But if he couldn't crack their rotation last season and now he's scoring 20, something must have flipped.

I saw a couple of games Logan played a few weeks ago
and as usual he was solid. I think he always had great
court awareness, handled the ball well, passed pretty well, rebounded very well, was active defendsively, etc.
He scored some but not a lot in the games I saw.
Was sorry to see him go as well.

Some, just not a lot.
Good for him, was sorry to see him leave.

We'll be sending a team to TBT for the first time since 2018.

The "Nasty Nati" team (playing out of the Cintas Center region) will consist of:

-Kevin Johnson (GM)
-Troy Caupain
-Jacob Evans
-Jarron Cumberland
-Tre Scott
-Octavious Ellis
-Coreonte DeBerry
-Shaq Thomas

You'd have to imagine they'd have a pretty good chance to advance far in the tournament with that squad

For those interested in the past, Alex Meachem recently posted a good interview with Mamoudou Diarra. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y-1w6JqHLA&ab_channel=SHINEOneMedia

Lots of good info on there and just a fun inside view of what was going on with Diarra.
He also went deeper into what happened with Brannen than just about anyone and had some inside views on Cronin as well. He let slip a tidbit that makes it seem like both MAW and Davenport also wanted to leave.

Sounds like Diarra was a great locker room guy who helped hold the team together.
In terms of career it seems like he struggled with the coaching changes and not having a set position. Lots of practicing as a 4, but playing as a 5.
