The Bad:

- We are 1-3
- Looked lost in the two games on the road
- Special teams have been very shaky
- Our secondary has not looked good.
- Didn't finish tonight

The Good:

- Played every bit as good as the #8 team in the country
- Pead makes this offense so much more balanced
- O-line looks like they corrected bunch of stuff
- We are YOUNG
- We might be gelling right before the Big East.
- The Big East is wide open

Here is what I took from the game:

  1. The offensive line finally started clicking. They still have room for improvement but they finally looked how I expected them to look at the start of the season.
  2. The defense continued to play solid. There is plenty of upside with this unit and hopefully they continue to progress throughout the season. They should be a positive going into next season with more experience and hopefully more depth.
  3. With Collaros not having to constantly run for his life, the offense actually looked like it might just have some of that potential we thought it had.
  4. Pead looked special. I dont know if it was him being rested or if he is turning a corner but I hope this is a sign of things to come.
  5. I cant help but think that we need to give Goebel more looks in the redzone.
  6. We really need to find another redzone option other than a triple covered Binns in the corner of the endzone. It would be nice to have Hazelton or Thompkins right about now.
  7. Bomar has played as well as I thought he could coming into this season.
  8. Rogers is still jekyll and hyde. Guy is a great asset on kickoffs and sometimes looks good on FGs but then he turns around and misses some kicks that should be money.
  9. We still need to improve on the little things
  10. The season is not lost. Hopefully the Miami game can be a tune up for Big East play and we may just be coming into our own albeit a little late. Anybody can win the Big East at this point. Fiesta Bowl rematch against Oklahoma anybody?

Good Post KP.

The offensive line playing awesome and the dumb costly mistakes were the story of the game.

Both teams had multiple stupid penalties... although the pass interference call against Reuben was an absolutely horrendous call... that was offensive pass interference 100 out of 100 times.

Well, what a disappointing loss last night. I am proud of how the team played but we left 17 points out there just because of turnovers and handed Oklahoma 7 at the worst possible time. I had a bad angle, but should there have been a fair catch violation penalty on OU when DJ muffed the punt at the end? Just curious. I couldn't tell from my seat.

FWIW, Central Michigan started out slowly the first year under Butch Jones and rallied to win the MAC that year. The Big East is not good this year so there is hope.

Nice job fellas! That was an exciting game and one we should have won. Any way you cut it, the team didn't let us down with that performance.

UC left a lot of points out on the field but remember OK also had a WR wide open who dropped a TD pass late in the first half. Like I said, both teams had some boneheaded plays and penalties... UC probably had a few more, which ended up being the difference.

I thought the same thing. I thought anytime there was contact with a guy making the fair catch that it was interference, even if the player moves into you -- you have to give the receiver room. DJ ran into the guy, there was contact on DJ's arm. I'm not excusing DJ, because you HAVE to make that catch, but I was wondering where the flag was. The ref was standing two feet from him so he had to see it.

Both teams made their fair share of mistakes. Other than DJ's muffed punt that obviously was a killer, I thought the biggest mistake was the missed extra point. If we had that extra point we could have gone for two to tie it at 24. From there it's a whole different game.

I am now an Anthony McClung fan. He was clutch when we needed him, and I'm looking forward to him getting some more playing time.

Irrelevant side note: In my NCAA 2011 dynasty mode, McClung scored way more TDs and accumulated more yards than Binns or Woods.

He showed some nice flashes... just wish he could have found a way to haul in that pass on the first drive for a TD, could have changed the entire complexion of the game- like several other turning point plays in the game... tough catch to make though.

Is there ever going to be a ruling on Dyjuan Lewis or has he already been officially ruled ineligible. Frankly, this is a joke. People think the government should stay out of the NCAA's business, etc... but the country needs a powerful third party to come in and clean up this crooked enterprise. They are supposed to be serving the kids- they're only serving themselves.

I thought the NCAA ruled him ineligable

I haven't heard... I have no idea I'm looking for an answer actually lol the last time I saw they were still waiting on a ruling and that was right around the time of the Fresno game. Regardless, it's pathetic the way the NCAA is run and my statement still stands. :)
