How do you feel about this season? 2016-17

Great season. Absolutely great season. Tough tournament draw but that happens. Xavier in sweet 16 this year but not last year, last years team would blow this years team out of the water. The perfect example of why seasons on the whole should not be judged by what happens in the tournament.


I already see why I have to take so much time away from this board with all these new posters. To you good guys out there, catch you on the flippity flip.

I'm not a big post guy to begin with, but I'm sick and tired of acting like this bearcat team is somehow a powerhouse now, it's a good team in a very BAD conf. that's going know where fast. Not to mention Cronin said this is his BEST team EVER, and you can't get to the second weekend of the NCAA's, not really much to be to excited about next year, playing the like of Tulane, ECU, and USF over and over again, not to mention your ONLY TRUE point guard is now gone, this ain't rocket science people. Good team in a BAD Conf. with NO answers in site. BFD!

As I said in another thread, what would you like Mick to do about the conference and the schedule?

And, do you even know who's on next years roster?

What's your point? What would you like to see happen? Are you really going to pretend that you didn't enjoy watching this team all season? How is any of your post constructive?

It doesn't really sound like college sports are for you.

That isnt a factual statement. the AAC has a very good chance at landing Wichita state. And then possibly VCU. Uconn was injured all year and will be back to normal next year, SMU will be SMU. That means the conference is going somewhere and into a possible 4 bid league. But in reality, what the hell do you expect Mick to do about the conference we are in?

But then your statement couldnt make it to the 2nd weekend shows you really dont know what your talking about. Once the tournament picks are in its all about who draws who. We draw a Florida state or Baylor and were still in this. but we drew a team with 3-4 NBA players on the roster. Also, Troy has been here 4 years and not a single person has ever called him a TRUE point guard, because he isnt.

So you want to get in a big conference and win the tournament? I think we are all with you with those things. What's your plan to do this
 
I just DON'T understand how most of you guys can get excited about watching UC play the likes of ECU, Tulane, USF, Memphis, etc. game after game. As for the clown who says WSU and VCU are coming to the AAC, you're nuts, checkout what both schools had said about this, NO THANK YOU. Look guys UC put all of it's eggs in one basket when they thiught for sure they were heading to the Big 12, the bottom line is FOOTBALL drives the bus, regardless how good you think your B-Ball team is Nipert stadium is beatiful, but it's way to small, period. NO TEAMS in the Big 12 wanted to play here, like it or not UC is what it is, and I'll even go as far as to compare UC basketball to the likes of a VCU, Wichita St, even a Gonzaga type, but the difference is, these teams have made runs to final 4' and elite 8's something the mighty Mickey Mouse Cronin has failed to ever do. Keep telling yourselves things are getting better, but it will ALWAYS be the same ole story year after year, until UC get into a Bif Conf. and gets a coach who can take them to the next level. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile, Mick or is it Marvin Cronin and Mick Lewis neither can't even do that. 100% FACT! Good day fantasy wish UC fans! ( LOL )
 
Really fun year. Played hard. Watched our players make shots. Beat XU after missing 19 free throws and their best player going for 40. Dominated our first game in the tourney. Had a legit shot to beat a top 5 UCLA team. Loved Mick openly talking about wanting to make a run and that we have good players.

We need the AAC to improve at the top. Simple as that. If we can get some additions along with SMU, Uconn, Memphis, and us being really solid.....a 29-5 record will get us a 4 seed IMO. That'll put next years team in a great position to make noise.

My 2 cents: People need to stop being so offended when people attack Mick. Having the conversation with them may seem like you're helping, but it's just bringing more attention to it. Its been 11 years. The biggest way to help this program is to attend games and be positive. It just gets embarassing at how much our fans fight with each other sometimes

Who says we get excited about it...there is nothing we can do about the teams in the bottom of the conference. And thanks for the clown comment bro. But If you are telling us that our conference sucks and we need to leave, then why the hell wouldnt Wichita leave. They said the same things Mick did about the seedings.

Quick question. Other than just being a douche, is there a reason you are here? you obviously hate Mick, dont know what players are on our roster and laugh at lack of tourny runs. So do us all a favor and run in front of a bus so I can get my laughs in

Those teams have made runs but it's really rare. Ganzaga hasn't made it to the final 4, and one elite 8 ever. The other teams made a run and didn't go back. That's what we are trying to tell you. It's not easy.

Is playing Tulane or ECU exciting? No. Never heard one person say that. Ever. But we like watching our team play bball. We are UC fans. Should we not be excited about a top 20 team coming back next year? The odds are they will not win the championship but it ls still exciting

Exactly. I won't apologize to anyone for being happy with this season. It provided months and months of entertainment. The season tickets holders saw 18 wins and 0 losses. No chance any of them are complaining about the product.
