I was pointing out that he played 2 possessions and why he played 2 possessions. Nothing more.

Ok all I was saying in my first mention of him was that he did not have a good showing in the little time he played. Mainly cuz I don't see him being the magic key that turns this team around like Some proclaim. Anyway, No big deal

We ALWAYS turn it over and are careless when we run halfcourt 100% of the time. That's the whole point. Magically hoping it will change and continuing to use it as an excuse does nothing.
We scored 79 points. Cobb shot a 3 when he was him on 3. We are not a race up and down basket ball team. If the opportunity is there push it but if not you have to execute in half court. Especially in Close games.

Jacob Evans needs to start. With him and Cobb on the floor it stretches the defense and lets Troy get some drives to the basket and gives more space to the post up players.

i agree. Kid is a difference maker. I wonder if his performance will elevate him to a starters role.

I thought Caupain had a GREAT game going till about a minute left. Evans was great and I thought Deberry did well. Clark not bad...almost a double double

You don't seem to understand the point of what I was saying.

KJ played well except for 2 TO's. we out rebounded them, out shot them from 2 and 3. It was a hard fought game that they made the play to win

i do,you want to create more tempo. I'm fine with that if it turns out to be our strength. I think we our much more suited with our personnel to be much more effective when we are more deliberate. Especially over the course of a game. For me speeding up the game with our lack of ball handlers would be bad. Now if you ask me what style I like better it is a much quicker offense. We are getting beat because we are not playing good defense. Not because we are not running up tempo.we have been giving up perimeter jumpers this season at a alarming rate. The game winner tonight was a guy late on the rotation which has killed us all year.

Please stop. This has been explained to you over and over again.
Am I posting something against the rules. If not why don't you stop. I'll tell you what go take a vote with the other moderators. Explained!! You make comments and like everyone are know expert. You don't explain anything to me. You can debate but explain. Laughable.

That's the problem. ..he's had 13 turnovers in his last 5 games. He can make 3s but his % isn't great. Not sure his D makes up for what he lacks on the other end

he certainly has struggled offensively that is for sure. Thought he played well tonight though. Between him,Shaq and Cobb all three are very lose with the ball. Factor in our Biggs being tour over prone and it is not a pretty picture. If the ball is not in Troy's hands I'm nervous.

The team has to stop this sleep walking through the first 5 minutes. And it has nothing to do with tempo, it has everything to do with being ready to play when the ball tips. I don't know if it will take a change in starting lineup or what, but coming out all flat and getting down double digits right off the bat is embarrassing.

I did like how once we settled in we actually had movement on offense. There was spacing, there were picks being made off the ball. We isolated Evans multiple times and let him work. This kind of thing must continue.

I was talking specifically about the beginning of the games. And more specifically, the big games. The beginning tonight where we went down 14-2. The beginning where Xavier went up 10-1. We get out of the gate slow. All the time in these games. Turnovers always seem to be a problem in the halfcourt...so why insist on being so slow and deliberate the first 10 minutes of every big game? How can we expect to not dig a hole? How can we reasonably expect to ever be the ones up 14-2 or 10-1? We complain about our own transition defense, but never make the opponent play transition defense until the 2nd half when we're down by double digits. Sleepy starts filled with turnovers are a chronic problem. Doing the same thing and hoping for better results does nothing to fix the problem.

Tight games going forward my minutes. ..

Caupain...35
Evans...32.5
Clark...30
Ellis...27.5
Cobb...27.5
Deberry...17.5
Thomas...17.5
KJ...17.5

I know that's 200 but Jenifer and Moore can work in there for 5 minutes somewhere.

you may have answered the question of the slow starts. Evans needs to be on the floor at tip off.

Statistically these 50/50 games will have to balance out at some point. I'd rather lose them early and win them late in the season. Although for UC it does feel like those 50/50 games are really more like 10/90 games...

We continued to walk the ball up the majority of the game. But we actually ran an offense this game. That is what makes the difference.
