I thought our fan base was fickle but their forum is on suicide watch. They think they are nit bound and going to get destroyed in b12 play lmao.

They were doubling the post every time (even if the primary defender was in good position). Even if Clark didn't shoot the other big was open all night.

They stopped doubling Clark in the 2nd half. He never even looked to score, immediately was look to pass out.

You could also see why JJ doesn't get too many minutes. Not that he was bad, but he isn't a threat to shoot and every time he drove the defenders just let him because they knew they could easily block his shot.

I have to agree. His shot is holding him back. He passed on an open 3 with the clock winding down that ended up with a shot clock violation. U could see Cronin telling him he has to shoot that

So, soo happy!
Loved that we did what Mick wanted - Defensive rebound.

Saw Kevin get a D rebound and immed pass up the court. Loved that! Put pressure the D. We need to do more of that! Still catching up on the thread. If it has not already been answered - why was Kyle out down the stretch? He was limping late in the game.
We came back twice - at the end of regulation and end of OT!! Got the buig steal at the end of reg!!! I really, really liked that we played smart for once - Jacob tried to get fouled, did, made both free throws. The look on his face: he looked really stressed/tight. Not sure if family or friends are in his ear about the NBA, and he is feeling pressure. These kids have a lot of stress.

I'm guessing Kyle was cramping. He plays hard but his conditioning still has to improve.

Also in the ISU blog they said Garrad was a character for not being scared of ISU..comedy

Ugly win but I'll take it especially in that environment. I feel bad for Caupain because I know he's better than that. He will get it together.

Why was KW on the bench towards the end of the game defensive purposes?

I think Kyle tweaked an ankle or something. He was a liability on def at the end of the game. He definitely looked gimpy when he went for the loose ball at half court. It didn't look too serious though so I'm sure he is fine going forward.

Iowa State reminds me of our 2011-12 team. Really good wing players but no interior presence. That team, playing in the monster Big East, was ranked most of the first half of the season and faded down the stretch and ended up as a 10 seed. I think they're more talented than that team but they looked like a 7-8 seed to me. ISU good but flawed. I think we saw that tonight where UC didn't even play well but looked like the better team to me.

15 percent from 3 and we win? What an incredible defensive performance...and rebounding...jeesus

We also doubled their to's.

So let's see. We double their to's, shoot 15 percent from 3, our 3 best players are held way under average, on the road in one of the most hostile environments, against a quality veteran team, and we win?

30 rebounds from 3 players were the difference imo. Clark is player of the game for absolutely sure!

Great win for UC tonight! A couple thoughts:

1. If that is the KJ we get the rest of this year, this team will be very, very good. He was fantastic tonight and I hope this is the spark he needs to keep it going.

2. This might be the best defensive UC team I have seen under Cronin and they still have room to get better.

3. I think this might be the win this team needs to get everything rolling downhill. The way they lost games last year, they needed one of these big games to go their way at the end. I think this win is more important than if they had gone there and won by 10 or 15 points. This is very good for their confidence and psyche.

I give the player of the game to Kevin Johnson. His on the ball defense at the top of the zone was amazing tonight. He made a couple big shots and his drive in OT down three was huge.

i think you mean 12/13

Reading Iowa States forum is the strangest thing I've experienced. You would think they're 0-8 from the way they talk. That's what Bearcat D does though. Frustrates teams and fans to no end.

One of my problems is KJ is more likely to drive or shoot than Evans. I thought Evans passed up good looks from 3 tonight.

If Clark had Quadris willingness to shoot, Clark would put up 25/game.

Also to Bowie who could have gotten a technical for taunting, thanks for sparking the comeback.
