But you did not hear it, you read it.
You cant be 100% sure on that- I think he might of actually been near Mick when he was giving this answer. Correct me if Im wrong Legend?

Look, there is a double edged sword in this area. Mick has two responsibilities. He is a coach and an administrator. As such he has to protect his team and I think some of the "excuses" are designed to do that. Anyone close to practice knows he gets on these guys hard.
As and admin he is also trying to keep hope in the heart of the fan base. So he keeps saying "we are young" to give some credence to the future of the program. What I'd like is for him to be more honest and direct, and engage the fan base more. Cincinnati fans are fickle, but they do respond to honesty and a coach with an edge.
Lastly, I think his public excuses, gives his team private excuses. Accountability is a good thing. Hold them accountable. There is some truth in them, but don't excuse losing. Lance is just a freshman, and he actually has very good numbers for a frosh. Don't give him an out. Say, "He has to work harder to improve." That's what I have wanted to hear. Say, "Deonta is not getting it done and his play is hurting us." or "Yancy is the key to this team, and he has to play hard or he won't play." That will have impact.
I like you. You're smart.
